Five weeks from today, the Broncos open their 2020 season, hosting the Titans on “Monday Night Football.” Between now and then, the team’s announced their preparation plans.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there won’t be any preseason games this year. But Denver will conduct a training camp, albeit modified from their original plans.

The Broncos will hold their first of 18 training camp practices on Aug. 14, which will be the first time the entire team has worked out together. That mandatory full-speed, non-padded practice will be followed two days later (Aug. 16) with similar outing.

After this acclimation process, Denver will be permitted to hold their first padded practice on Aug. 17. The first padded session will last 90 minutes, and the ensuing practices will increase in length until they reach two-and-a-half hours on Aug. 21. The team will then hold those full-length sessions through the end of training camp, which is slated for Sept. 4.

No fans will be allowed to attend any of the practices at the UCHealth Training Facility. And media access will be limited.

The Broncos must then trim their roster to 53 players by 2:00 p.m. on Sept. 5. Nine days later, they’ll kick off their season against Tennessee.

Bo Nix passed the test last month -- the mental test put on him by Sean Payton, who wanted to learn about the QB's processing ability.
