Broncos Injury Report: Mini-bye helps team get healthy for Week 8

Oct 25, 2019, 6:15 AM | Updated: 3:06 pm

Reeling from an embarrassing 30-6 home loss to the Chiefs, the Broncos had a few extra days to stew on the defeat. Losing on Thursday night provides another three days to think about what went wrong.

That’s the downside. The upside, however, is that it provides a chance to rest and recover. And the Broncos have certainly benefited from the extra time, as they head into a Week 8 trip to Indianapolis as healthy as they’ve been since the season opener.

Here’s who was listed on the Broncos official injury report as of Thursday, October 24:

***

FULL PARTICIPATION

Ja’Wuan James (RT)
Injury – Knee
Note – The high-priced right tackle is expected to play some in Indy, but because Vic Fangio doesn’t believe he’s in football shape, he probably won’t start

Ron Leary (RG)
Injury – NIR
Note – The Broncos gave their right guard another “vet day” early in the week to help him get ready for Sunday, but he looks to be a full go for the Colts

***

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

Justin Hollins (LB)
Injury – Knee
Note – Since injuring the knee three weeks ago against the Chargers, it’s been a lingering and nagging ailment for the rookie linebacker; his status for Sunday remains unclear

***

DID NOT PRACTICE

Bryce Callahan (CB)
Injury – Foot
Note – The cornerback will be sidelined a few more weeks due to a foot injury that dates back to last season and was re-aggravated during training camp

Will Parks (S)
Injury – Hand
Note – After battling a wrist injury, the safety injured his hand against the Chiefs and will be sidelined a few weeks following surgery

***

UPDATE

DID NOT PRACTICE

Noah Fant (TE)
Injury – Foot
Note – The Broncos rookie tight end cut his foot removing tape from his ankle, an injury that Vic Fangio didn’t think would keep Fant from playing against the Colts
