The Broncos have their 53-man roster, at least for now

With five preseason games in the books, the Broncos had plenty of opportunities to evaluate the 90-plus players who spent time with the team during training camp. In the end, they used that process to settle on the final 53 who would make the roster.
On Friday and Saturday, a trade, a free-agent acquisition and a host of cuts trimmed the roster. And the moves might not be done yet, with a couple of players headed to injured reserve before the weekend is out.
But as of now, here are the 53 players who made the Broncos 2019 roster:

This group of 53 is notable for a couple of reasons:
1. The active roster features 18 players who were not with the club in any capacity during the 2018 season. Included in that total are seven veteran free agents, six draft selections, two college free agents and two trade acquisitions.
2. For the 15th time in the last 16 years, a rookie college free agent made the team’s active roster for Week 1. Outside linebacker Malik Reed (Nevada) and inside linebacker Josh Watson (Colorado State) give Denver 24 college free agents who have made the Broncos’ active roster out of training camp since 1997.
