In the first hour, DMac and Tom discuss the latest on David Ortiz and the unfortunate situation that unfolded over the weekend in the Dominican Republic. DMac comments on the sense of obligation foreign athletes sometimes feel when it comes to their home country. The guys speculate who would win the the hypothetical Mixed Martial Arts match between Tom Cruise and Justin Bieber. Patrick Saunders, our Fan Rockies Insider, joins the program to break down what he sees from the Rockies ahead of their game against the Chicago Cubs tonight.
In the second hour, DMac and Tom look back on all of the notable events from the Broncos’ off-season. DMac says there is one specific day that stands out among all the others. 1043TheFan.com’s James Merilatt joined the program to revisit his stance on Field Day now that the Patriots, his model for success, cancelled their final two days of OTAs today. The guys discuss the upcoming CBA negotiations and what they expect from both sides. DMac questions the will to win of athletes who choose to stay with bad teams instead of putting winning first.
In the third hour, DMac and Tom hand out their High Fives for the day. Tom highlights a Boston Bruin playing in the Stanley Cup Finals right now with Colorado roots. The guys preview tonight’s NBA Finals matchup. Will Kevin Durant be enough to keep the Warriors alive in this series? Win or lose, have we seen the last of the Warriors’ dynasty?
