The Drive with DMac & Troy Renck LIVE IN STUDIO!!! Qadry Ismail joins the show to talk about being cool with DMac at Syracuse, and how long it’s been since he’s gone back. DMac asks Qadry what the Broncos are getting in Joe Flacco, and Ismail mentions Flacco’s inconsistencies.
The guys talk about the Broncos’ worst loss of the season, either to the 49ers or to the Raiders, and DMac tells Troy the Brandon Marshall situation is tricky, because the information on Marshall’s impending release hasn’t come from the team. Troy tells DMac Marshall sees the writing on the wall, and DMac says the Broncos have a number in mind for Matt Paradis. Troy says the Broncos can’t be all-in on Flacco without fixing the O-Line.
In the Big 3, DMac talks to Troy about the Colin Kaepernick settlement with the NFL. Troy mentions Kaepernick turned down playing for the AAF, and DMac says Kaepernick is officially done with the NFL. Troy brings up Nolan Arenado’s contract situation, and DMac is confident Arenado will land a long-term deal in Colorado. Also, Big Sexy reads about the Colorado Avalanche.
DMac & Troy talk about Elvis Dumervil & his comments about Joe Flacco & Peyton Manning. DMac mentions Dumervil’s fax snafu, and asks Troy if Dumervil’s comments about John Elway are correct.
DMac brings up Emmanuel Sanders’ reaction to the news regarding Brandon Marshall’s impending release. Troy says there are no plans to move on from Sanders, and DMac wonders if Sanders has beef with the Broncos. DMac says a part of Broncos Country will be happy to see Brandon Marshall & the Broncos part ways, and Troy remembers his first interaction with Marshall.
We hear from the man who killed a mountain lion in Northern Colorado earlier this month, and DMac takes a call from a listener who lives in the area close by.
The guys talk about Brandon Marshall voicing his opinion & losing sponsors along the way. Troy says the Denver media never silenced Marshall, it just comes down to money & production on the field. Also, DMac says it’s harder to stand with Colin Kaepernick today than it was yesterday after he settles with the NFL.
DMac says the Broncos are not thinking about a rebuild with Joe Flacco, and could have overvalued Bradley Chubb compared to their evaluation of quarterbacks.
