Big Al calls Von Miller strip of Chris Carson ‘amazing,’ ‘glorious’

Call him a thief. Call him a bandit. But at first, Alfred “Big Al” Williams didn’t know what exactly happened when Denver Broncos pass rusher Von Miller went up and took away the ball from Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carlson.

“When I saw the play, I didn’t know what I saw, actually. I didn’t know what was going on,” Williams said on Monday. “I thought maybe Von had knocked the ball out of his hands and it bounced back up to him.”

PASS RUSHER: Schlereth: Von Miller the best defensive player in history of Broncos

The play happened midway through the third quarter. Carson on the run to the right had the ball snatched out of his hands, seemingly out of nowhere, by Miller.

“It was certainly something that made me just … I just stood up and put my hands up like, ‘What did I just see?’” Williams said.

On Monday, “The Drive” co-host called it “one of the most amazing plays from a defender that he’d ever seen,” so much so that it took his breath away.

“As many years as I’ve been watching football, and as many years that I’ve played football, I have never seen a more glorious play from a defender against an active runner that big, that strong,” Williams said.
