Pritchard: Thumping by Patriots shows Broncos in rebuilding mode

Nov 13, 2017, 12:00 AM | Updated: 8:32 am

1. Finger pointing among Broncos is becoming rampant

… and it didn’t start this year. New coach. Same players. New coach. Same results as last year.

The core group of the 2017 Denver Broncos team grew up with Peyton Manning under center, and they have not learned how to win without him.

It looks as if this Denver squad will miss the playoffs for the second year in a row.

2. Broncos lack of talented depth has become an issue

Even though Denver’s record isn’t what most expected, the amount of talent on this team isn’t really up for debate.

The discussion should start with the talent level of the backup players. Poor play on special teams, which is mostly comprised of backups, exposed the Broncos lack of depth.

Injuries have also become a factor, and there’s a sizable gap regard the ability of Denver’ starters and their replacements

3. It will get uglier before it gets better

Without publicly stating it, Denver is in a rebuilding mode. Names who were important during the Super Bowl run will no longer be on the team.

How much patience with Broncos Country have during this rebuilding process? How much time will the current coaching staff have to help this process?

At this point, we all have to wait and see.

George Paton: Round 1 isn’t the only place where Broncos can find a quarterback

For Broncos general manager George Paton, the draft able answer to the Broncos’ quarterback quandary doesn’t have to come in the first round. “I do think it is a good quarterback class. There’s seven, eight quarterbacks that we like that (we) think can play in the league one day,” Paton said during a pre-draft press […]
