Among the deluge left in the wake of Hurricane Harvey is an area Houston, near the Astrodome and NRG Stadium that Alfred Williams recalled seeing during the coverage this weekend.

There’s a shop, along Brays Bayou, where he published a tuxedo. But after rain dumped across the city since Harvey made landfall late last week, the area now sits under several stories of water.

“The one area that I saw, it was a bayou that I was familiar with. … They say that the highest that area, Brays Bayou, the highest that it’s ever been is like 51 feet or something like that from the bottom to the top and they were expecting this thing to be 61 feet,” Williams said during “The Drive” on Monday.

“And I was like, ‘Wow. That’s nuts.’”

Williams, who spent his youth in Houston, said the area he went to high school is “under a lot of duress.”

The house he bought for his mother sustained some damage, but for the most part, it’s “OK.”

But all in all, the most important thing for Williams is “nobody’s in any danger” as far as his family can tell.

“We can rebuild. You can rebuild,” Williams said. “But making sure there’s no loss of life or major injuries are the biggest concerns. And I think that’s what we have to take into account.”

A number of Williams’ family and friends, along without an outpouring of support from 104.3 The Fan listeners, offered well-wishes over the past several days, a sentiment he appreciated greatly.

“So many friends, and once again I appreciate all of my great friends and family checking in …” Williams said.
