John gives his overall thoughts on Tony Romo and could end up happening. John discusses whether or not the Broncos or the Texans would trade a draft pick or two in order to get Romo via trade. John also gets into if Tony Romo would make the Broncos or Texans that much better than they were last season. John breaks down if he’s surprised that Tony Romo and his team have not made more of a public outcry. John McClain goes into that and more relating to Tony Romo!

Mike Klis joins DMac & Chad to say he’s headed down to Phoenix for the NFL Owners’ Meeting that will wrap up Wednesday afternoon. Klis says Elway wanted to make sure Kaepernick was all about winning and not about money. Also, Tony Romo could make close to $20 million with contract incentives like winning the Super Bowl. Klis says this Broncos team is all about whether you win or not, and it doesn’t matter if your jersey says Romo on the back. DMac asks about John Elway’s contract situation & Klis mentions Elway’s agent, and the hopeful deadline for getting a deal done between Elway & the Broncos.

Cecil Lammey: The Drive 3/23/17

Cecil Lammey joins the show to talk about Christian McCaffrey’s pro-day performance and his measurables. Cecil says also keep an eye on BYU’s Jamaal Williams, who the Broncos are looking at, and had his own pro-day today. DMac wants to point out those that work with the Philadelphia Eagles that maintain close ties to Christian McCaffrey. Cecil mentions the talk of Reuben Foster dropping in the draft, and if the interest from teams like Carolina is real in regards to McCaffrey. DMac eliminates a slew of draft choices and forces Cecil & Chad to pick for the Broncos at No. 20 overall based on Kiper Jr.’s latest mock.

Cecil discusses that and gives his perspective to why a veteran player might be thinking that. Cecil also breaks down some possible rule changes in the NFL that could be implemented. Troy then goes into some of the latest NFL mock drafts and who he might see going to the Denver Broncos in the first round of the draft. Troy also weighs in on who the Broncos should think about taking in the first round of the draft with all things considered.

Chris first goes into which game on the Nuggets upcoming schedule will give them the biggest test after Denver walked away with a win over Cleveland last night. Chris breaks down the Nuggets playoff chances the rest of their season and what their upcoming schedule looks like compared to teams like Portland that their battling for the final playoff spot in the West. Chris then goes into some of the news coming out of the NCAA Tournament relating to LeBron James and the NBA. Finally, Chris talks about players in the NBA resting down the stretch of the regular season.

Charlie Taaffe joins the show to talk about Paxton Lynch and his progress this off-season. What is different now for Paxton than before the 2016 NFL Draft, and what coming out of the Memphis system did for Lynch. Charlie says Paxton has been spending time working under center, quick release & throwing motion, and feels when his strides are too long. Preparation has been important, and Charlie says timing between these green QBs and their receivers is critical. Paxton knew nothing when he came to Denver, and Charlie gives some insight on where he is now and how far he’s come in his development.

Nate Solder joins the show & says he learned on the run, and by the time he was a first-rounder the technique had not come overnight. Nate tells DMac the Broncos LT situation is not an inevitable disaster, and it’s also not an easy position. Nate talks about his ability to watch & pick out things a player can improve on in 10 minutes or less, like footwork, quickness, and getting your hands inside. Nate says it’s imperative to remember the people you had success with, and Brady’s missing jersey was like watching an episode of Narcos, he couldn’t even find a pair of Cutters gloves at the time. Also, Solder says bottom line: NFL is a business.
