As soon as the news about Pat Bowlen’s passing broke, the offers of condolences to the family and tributes to the Broncos owner began to appear on social media. It was an outpouring that extended far and wide.

Current and former players were among the first to share their thoughts.

Other teams around the NFL, as well as the league, expressed their thoughts.

The other professional sports teams that call Denver home also paid their respects.

Prominent Coloradans extended their condolences.

And some classic moments from Bowlen’s time as the Broncos owner were shared.

It was a fitting tribute to a legend, a man who built one of the most-successful sports franchises in America and helped lift the city of Denver to new heights.
