Is Drew Lock “Wacko for Flacco”? The Drive 5/14/19
May 14, 2019, 6:02 PM
In the first hour, D-Mac and Tom discuss the national reaction to Joe Flacco’s comments on being a mentor to Drew Lock. Has Lock been put in a tough situation? Did Elway do Vic Fangio a disservice by saddling him with an awkward quarterback situation before the season even starts? Tom explains why veteran quarterbacks are less likely to want to mentor younger guys than veterans at other positions. Patrick Saunders, our Fan Rockies Insider, joins the program live from Fenway Park to preview tonight’s game against the Red Sox.
In the second hour, D-Mac and Tom discuss the negative feedback Joe Flacco received from the media and former players about his comments on Day 1 of OTAs. D-Mac doubles down saying he doesn’t think Joe Flacco said anything wrong and points to Peter Schrager’s comments to support his claim. The one and only Peter McKee joined the program to talk Red Sox vs. Rockies and even comments of the Avalanche’s disappointing finish in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The guys discuss just how much the Broncos’ offense would need to improve statistically in order to get to the playoffs this season.
In the third hour, D-Mac and Tom discuss what is on the horizon for Chris Harris Jr. as his contract negotiation continues to hang in the balance. D-Mac says there is almost no way Harris walks away with the $15 million dollars per year he is asking for. The guys close out the hour reacting to the first few innings of the Rockies’ game at Fenway Park. Should Ian Desmond be the team’s designated hitter?
