Cheer up, Malik Beasley, with some embarrassing Denver sports gaffes

Apr 30, 2019, 4:12 PM | Updated: 4:27 pm

Don’t worry Malik Beasley. We’ve definitely all been there.

In an embarrassing — and honestly pretty funny — moment in Monday’s Game 1 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, the Denver Nuggets guard became gravity’s latest victim.

Running down the floor on a fast break, Beasley tried to bounce out to the three-point line as teammate Jamal Murray tossed him the ball, only to find himself flat on his behind after tripping over his own feet.

We laugh not at you, Malik, but with you. In solidarity.

So, to lift Beasley’s spirits here are some other embarrassing gaffes from the Denver sports world:

Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker

Not once but twice did the turf monster sneak up and squander a chance at finding the end zone. Surprisingly enough, both stumbles came against the San Diego Chargers.

Colorado Rockies outfielder Corey Dickerson

Down two in the ninth in a June 2014 contest against the Milwaukee Brewers, Dickerson tripled to lead off the inning only to find himself on the wrong end of a putout after faceplanting on the third-base line.

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Mark Barberio and goaltender Semyon Varlamov

This isn’t so much an embarrassing stumble but more an embarrassing collision. Philadelphia Flyers rookie Mikhail Vorobyev scored his first career NHL goal after Avs defenseman Mark Barberio and goaltender Semyon Varlamov smashed into each other near the net.

Fox Sports sideline reporter Jim Knox

Ralphie barreling down the Folsom Field turf ahead of kickoff is one of the great traditions in college football. Except maybe for Fox Sports sideline reporter Jim Knox, who got leveled by one of Ralphie’s handlers while attempting to keep up with the roughly 1,200 buffalo.

“Schlereth and Evans” co-host Mark Schlereth

These flubs didn’t happen on the field, but rather on the set of the CBS soap opera “Guiding Light.”

Hey, we poke fun at ourselves too. Plus, Stink survived this slight stumble to go on to act in Red Dawn and HBO’s “Ballers.”
