The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE IN STUDIO!!!
The guys talk about the Nikola Jokic suspension, and DMac talks PAC-12 basketball. Al talks playcalling, and DMac remembers Press Your Luck. Also, DMac wants OC Scangarello to be familiar with the Broncos QB.
The guys talk about the fine on Nickell Robey-Coleman for his helmet-to-helmet hit, and James Harden’s 42.5 over/under for tonight against the Raptors. Dmac talks about player-to-coach communication & asks Al why any team would huddle these days. Also, Mike Mussina retires with no team logo.
DMac mentions the Shanahan paradigm, drafting a QB in the 1st and the 4th round, and tells Al it’s a win-now sort of deal for Elway’s Broncos. Also, Big Al gets into Stephen A Smith & Max Kellerman’s beef with Derek Carr. Al says clap-back from NFL players is not common.
Benjamin Watson calls out Roger Goodell for his public silence following the Saints no-call, and asks DMac if Adam Silver would stay silent if the NBA faced a similar issue.
Al & DMac debate where the line should be drawn on calls, and Big Al says a system has already been set up in the NFL & will be reviewed in the offseason. Also, DMac decides what Goodell’s response should be.
The guys compare Tom Brady’s resume to this young crop of QBs, led by Mahomes, Goff & Trubisky. DMac asks when Tom Brady will retire & if he is hurt, and says tanking for Trevor Lawrence in 2020 is appealing.
Callers tell Al to accept referee mistakes, and the guys take a look at Mark Schlereth back in the day. Also, DMac explains why booth flags will change everything.
DMac laughs about the get-back coach Ted Rath that helps Sean McVay on the sidelines, and Big Al says it’s down to Daniel Jones in Elway’s QB search. DMac says the Redskins will be in the market for a QB, and Al wants his own Mahomes or Goff in Denver.
Big Al says the Nuggets need a get-back coach, and the fellas go over the big games coming up this weekend for the Nuggets against the Suns & 76ers.
