ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter joins the show to talk about the blown call in the LA Rams vs NO Saints game. Adam mentions the long pass to Ted Ginn, and New Orleans’ refusal to run the ball to force the Rams to call a timeout. Adam says the Saints had their chances, and Tom Brady is among the greatest players of all-time. DMac asks Adam about the NFL ratings boost this year & if management and anthem issues are in the past. Listen to the interview HERE!!!
Big Al says other teams will need to make Tom Brady come to them until he retires, and wants everyone to remember the way Brady plays in big moments.
In the Big 3, the guys talk about the AFC & NFC Championship game, and if the NFL should pass a rule to allow the booth to make a call. Also, Big Al says Tom Brady is used to playing in big games, and DMac talks about going to get your favorite quarterback.
Al & DMac take some calls on Tom Brady being the greatest ever, and Big Al says he was happy to see great games on Championship Sunday.
The guys talk about slowing down the game, and how to take bad calls out so the game can be officiated correctly. DMac & Al address close calls in both the Patriots game and the Rams game, and if there should be more reviews. The guys each tell their favorite clock management stories.
Troy Renck of Denver 7 joins the show to talk about Rich Scangarello calling plays, and what young QB the Broncos would draft if they went in that direction. Big Al asks Troy about the Broncos having access to players, and Troy says there is no way Drew Lock is falling to the Broncos at No. 10. Also, Troy expects this to be a transition year in Denver, but one with upside as Vic Fangio’s staff takes over with some young talent. Listen to the interview HERE!!!
Big Al has the idea Denver should combine the services of Sean Mannion & Drew Lock and it wouldn’t cost them $20 million. Al says the Broncos’ QB room is in good shape, and we can’t pursue Nick Mullens while he’s under contract. Al likes that Mannion is headed to the Super Bowl, and that he uses the same terminology as Sgangarello’s offense.
Big Al talks about Nick Mullens and Case Keenum, and DMac says any more time spent with Case Keenum as the QB is a mistake if you draft Drew Lock. Also, the guys debate how tempting a trade for Josh Rosen or Kyler Murray would be. Big Al points out Josh Rosen has now seen true NFL speed.
Big Al talks about miscues along the Broncos offensive line, and how they can be coached to take on a dominant pass rush despite their lack of size. Al dials up a formula to take Von Miller out of every game, and wonders why coaches let edge rushers like Von Miller beat them.
