The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE IN STUDIO!!! Troy Renck joins the show to talk about the NFL Hall of Fame, and John Elway’s tour of coaches before he decides on the next head coach of the Denver Broncos.
DMac has beef about being misrepresented on the morning show by Mike Evans, and opens up the can of worms surrounding Gary Kubiak & his son Klint. Al tells DMac nepotism with Kubiak might not always be positive. DMac points out that the Broncos are at an advantage with Von Miller, who is worth multiple first round picks. Also, DMac wants to change the defense to a 4-3 and Big Al wants to go to the Senior Bowl.
In the Big 3, the guys talk about Zac Taylor and if he’s innovative enough to get Al excited. Al asks DMac why the Broncos head coaching job isn’t enticing for Mike McCarthy or any big name coaches.
Big Al hopes Champ Bailey & Steve Atwater make the cut for Hall of Fame finalists, and rules out Karl Mecklenburg for the 2019 class.
Big Al says there is no doubt Champ Bailey is going into the Hall of Fame as a first-ballot guy, and the guys decide if there is an east coast bias when it comes to the Hall of Fame.
Troy Renck joins the show to talk about the NFL Hall of Fame, and John Elway’s tour of coaches before he decides on the next head coach of the Denver Broncos. Al asks Troy if the list of candidates will be expanded, and Renck responds, saying Munchak & Pagano are the leaders. Listen to the interview HERE!!!
Champ Bailey, John Lynch, Ty Law & Steve Atwater are all named as finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and DMac points out that the Safety position doesn’t typically send many athletes to the HOF.
Big Sexy goes over the finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and DMac is disappointed Karl Mecklenburg didn’t make it. DMac says what a week for the Broncos, as Bailey, Lynch & Atwater prepare to be inducted.
Big Al says the best job out there is the Miami Dolphins job, and DMac expects the Broncos to bring Zac Taylor in as the offensive coordinator with Klint Kubiak as the QBs coach. Also, DMac says it’s a major bummer that the Broncos are in rebuild mode & now he doesn’t care if we keep Case Keenum.
The guys talk about Nick Foles as the next QB1 for the Denver Broncos, and take a look at friendly contract situations for QBs around the NFL.
Big Al & DMac say thank you to Program Director Armen Williams for his time in Denver, and hear from AZ Thomas about Nick Foles & his QB coach.
