Will the numerous Broncos injuries eventually catch up to the team?

The Denver Broncos may have won the battle on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, but with Chris Harris Jr. suffering a fractured fibula, the war may be in jeopardy, says “Stokley and Zach” co-host Zach Bye.

Harris is just the latest in a litany of hurt Denver players, but Bye’s co-host, Brandon Stokley, said on Monday that if injuries were to catch up to the Broncos, they would have done so already.

“I think it would have already caught up with them, really. Especially with this offensive line. That was my big concern,” Stokley said.

The Broncos offensive line room has perhaps been hit hardest by the injury bug this season, with three starters on the interior out for the season — Ron Leary, Matt Paradis, and Max Garcia.

However, the unit has remained solid through the past three games with Billy Turner, Connor McGovern, and Elijah Wilkinson filling in.

After Sunday’s game head coach Vance Joseph pointed to how the Broncos have dealt with the injury situation with the offensive line as an indication of how they will move forward with Harris’ injury.

“As you know, we’ve lost three players already this season who were leaders on our interior offensive line, and we haven’t flinched,” Joseph said. “We won’t flinch now.”

The Broncos may not have to improvise long with Harris out, though.

On Monday, Joseph said the team would not put Harris on injured reserve with the hopes that he may be able to return to the field this season.

“He has time to, hopefully, recover and heal up, and, hopefully, we’re still playing,” Joseph said.

Harris said on Monday the team told him it’d take four weeks to recover, meaning he’d miss the remaining regular season games, but his goal is to be back in three.

“My goal is three weeks because I want to play against (Los Angeles Chargers),” Harris said.
