Stokley: John Harbaugh would be a ‘great fit’ with Denver Broncos

Nov 12, 2018, 1:54 PM

The Baltimore Ravens and John Harbaugh seems to be barreling toward a “mutual parting of the ways” after the 2018 season, CBS Sports Jason La Canfora reported early Sunday.

Should the Denver Broncos and head coach Vance Joseph part ways in 2019 as well, “Stokley and Zach” co-host Brandon Stokley said on Monday that Harbaugh would “absolutely” be a fit for the club.

“I look at John Harbaugh, yeah, he’d be a great fit here. He’d be a great fit in a lot of different places. He’s a really good football coach,” Stokley said.

Without knowing what other coaching candidates could be out there, Stokley said Harbaugh would be at least in the top two or three on the list thanks to his strong resume.

“This guy has a lot of experience, he’s coached in a lot of big games, he knows how to operate, and there’s been a structure there, which he’s done a really good job with, kind of like the structure that’s here in Denver,” Stokley said.

“He would have no issues working with a general manager, letting that general manager do his job. And he’s won a lot of big football games. He has a lot of experience when it comes to that. So, I think it would be a great fit here in Denver with John Harbaugh.

Since taking over the Ravens head coaching position in 2008, Harbaugh has amassed a regular season record of 98-71. He also has a 10-5 postseason record, which includes a Super Bowl win in 2012.

However, since Baltimore’s last championship, the Ravens have sputtered a bit, going 44-45 with just one playoff appearance in 2014.

After starting the 2018 season off at 3-1, the Ravens have lost four of their last five games before heading into a bye in Week 10.
