Broncos look to rebuild season after regenerative win vs. Cardinals

Oct 19, 2018, 12:09 AM

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said after Thursday night’s 45-10 hammering of the Arizona Cardinals that when you win the NFL, you feel like you’ll never lose again.

Joseph also said that it’s quite the opposite when you flip the script.

“You feel like you can’t win again,” Joseph said. “For our football team, winning this game was important.”

Important because while the Broncos may have not won in forever, they hadn’t won in four consecutive weeks before Thursday night’s tilt on the road.

And with nine days between now and an ever-important road trip to Kansas City to take on the division-leading Chiefs, the Broncos look to resting up and building off of the big win.

“Like coach Joseph says, in this league, man, when you lose you feel like you aren’t ever going to win again, and when you win you feel like you’re never going to lose again,” said wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders after the game. “It’s one of those situations that, yeah, we can build off of this.”

Vance Joseph’s job appears secure, for now

Despite speculation that a loss could spell the end of Vance Joseph’s tenure in Denver, the Broncos head coach brushed off questions about if he felt his future was at steak Thursday night.

“I’m not concerned about me. It’s a good win for our football team,” Joseph said, adding that this week was “never about me” but instead it was about the team.

After the game, 104.3 The Fan host Orlando Franklin said that he doesn’t foresee a coaching change with the Broncos after the beatdown of the Cardinals on Thursday even though this would be the ideal time to make a switch.

“I don’t think there will be a coaching change as of right now,” Franklin said. “This was the time that it would happen if it was going to happen because you’ve got 10 days to prepare for the Kansas City Chiefs. So, I see VJ keeping his job up until next week at least.”
