The Denver Broncos defense, despite a loss on Sunday to the Los Angeles Rams, deserves some love according to “Stokley and Zach” host Brandon Stokley and “The Drive” host DMac.
After six games, Rams quarterback Jared Goff ranks in the top 10 the NFL in quarterback rating, passer rating, yards per game, and touchdown percentage.
But on Sunday, the Broncos defense held Goff to just 14-of-28 passing for 201 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception. Denver also sacked the quarterback five times for 27 yards.
“So, you’ve got to give credit to Joe Woods and that secondary for coming out there and playing a good game,” Stokley said. “And if you look at the overall picture, 23 points. That’s the bottom line. You held this team to 23 points. That’s a win for this defense in my mind.”
Including Sunday’s total, the Rams average 32.7 points per game, good enough for third in the NFL.
“It came down to just a few points. You kept the Los Angeles Rams to 23 points. That is a job freaking well done.” DMac said. “You could’ve won that game, just like you could’ve won the Chiefs game.”
