The Drive with Big Al & Chad Brown LIVE IN STUDIO! Cecil Lammey joins the show to talk fantasy football with Al & Chad, and to give Al some sleepers to keep in mind when your fantasy draft rolls around, such as a certain WR in New Orleans no one is talking about yet, but will be soon enough.
Big Al suggests trading Shane Ray to the NY Jets for Teddy Bridgewater, and Chad Brown entertains the idea. Also, Al tells Chad he forgot how strong RGIII’s arm was, and the guys wonder if the Denver Broncos are overstocked on pass rushers. In the Big 3, Big Al brings up sports betting being allowed at Buffalo Wild Wings, and Chad wonders when people will be able to add their bets to their tab at the end of the evening. Also, the trouble with recruiting young players & keeping your text game strong. Al says Tom Brady has ruined the pay scale for starting QBs in the NFL because he is the greatest hands down & is not being paid like it. Al thinks the only reason Shane Ray is not listed as the starter on the Broncos’ initial depth chart is because they want to trade him.
The guys talk about the number of plays the starters are looking at for Preseason Week 1 against Minnesota, and Al asks Chad how the Broncos can keep all of their starters healthy. Chad tells Al night games during the preseason don’t make travel easy for the players. The boys talk about the beef with Cam Newton & Kelvin Benjamin, and Benjamin’s comments about Newton rising to the surface when Newton confronted him before the Bills & Panthers preseason game today.
Al defends Cam Newton, and Chad defends Kelvin Benjamin after their run-in on the field before the Panthers & Bills preseason game, and the guys talk about NFL teams & individual players not standing for the National Anthem this year. The fellas talk about good fits on the Broncos roster, and Al mentions the importance of coaches being the loudest voices in the room. Chad says head coaches are also concerned about player loyalty, and Al wonders if Kellen Moore is too young to be coached up. The boys talk about coaches vs caretakers, and Chad tries to establish the difference. Bridges must be built between players, coaches & general managers, and AL & Chad discuss the relationship with Elway, Kubiak & Bowlen.
