DMac is convinced after hearing audio from Broncos Punter Marquette King’s interview with Stokley & Zach that King doesn’t want to be here in Denver, and Big Al is lit about T.O.’s Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony. DMac discusses the potential & upside with Lamar Jackson, and is impressed with Jackson’s quick decisions & the ability to get the ball out of his hand. Also, Big Al tries to figure out why Jimmer Fredette is balling in China & nowhere else. The guys talk about the Madden controversy regarding Colin Kaepernick’s name being removed from a song on the soundtrack, and the apology issued by EA Sports following the fallout. Also, DMac brings up Urban Meyer’s actions following the allegations at OSU surrounding assistant coach Zach Smith.
Case Keenum throws his first pick in camp, and it was taken to the house by Will Parks. DMac notes the down & distance, and why this interception was so awful. Al defends Keenum, and points out that Peyton Manning used to throw interceptions all the time in camp & Patrick Mahomes has already thrown eight of them this year. The guys talk about Paxton’s struggles, and DMac points out that Phillip Lindsay can return punts. DMac says Devontae Booker & Royce Freeman have just been ‘whatever’ while DeAngelo Henderson has been showing out. Al is not sold on Bradley Chubb, and tells DMac it’s clear that Shane Ray has been the better player. Also, the best backs in camp so far have been Phillip Lindsay & DeAngelo Henderson, and DeMarcus Ware was spotted back at camp today. Troy Renck of Denver 7 joins the show to help Big Al out with who the Broncos’ outside linebackers is, and Al yells if Troy doesn’t know who it is, then DMac doesn’t either. Also, Al & DMac try to get some answers from Troy on what DeMarcus Ware’s role with the team is, and why he’s allowed to leave Broncos camp & attend Cowboys camp in the middle of the week. Listen to the interview HERE!
DMac waves goodbye to Jeff Heuerman prematurely after Heuerman defends Urban Meyer on social media, and Al says things do not look promising for Meyer right now. Big Al makes some bold predictions for the 2018 NFL season, including longer carries & less turnovers. DMac says the coaches will open things up in 2018, and the guys give their thoughts on the new rule changes in the NFL. Big Al talks about Gary Kubiak & Bill Musgrave working with the Broncos quarterbacks, and DMac remains confused about what Broncos coaches do what & why there are still missing pieces at key coaching positions. Big Al says RG III should be a quarterback in Denver, and the Broncos should take a look at the veteran QB despite his injury woes & questions from the media about his knee. DMac asks Al to compare Robert Griffin III’s performance in the Hall of Fame game last night to Lamar Jackson’s.
