The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE IN STUDIO! Big Al is concerned about the Broncos secondary this year, but high on the receivers. Al asks DMac if he feels confident in Chris Harris Jr. going up against Antonio Brown.
Al & DMac talk about the Broncos coaches getting Paxton Lynch comfortable in Training Camp 2018, and the playcalling helping Paxton get better & have good days of practice. Al says it’s not the same without hard hitting, and DMac says it’s hard for the third stringers like Isaiah McKenzie & Chad Kelly due to the drop-off in talent. Also, why the receivers’ hands are letting them down. In the Big 3, DMac says he’s gotten tired of sitting there at the beginning of practice at Dove Valley & the daily routine at training camp, and Big Al says how about Jon Gray last night. Big Al is salty about T.O. and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and congratulates Brian Dawkins. The guys talk about the best jams to listen to at camp, and Al says DMac was right all along about Jano. Al says we have a ton of athletes that can help out the Special Teams unit this year, and Courtland Sutton has to be on the field at all times along with Emmanuel Sanders.
Al & DMac discuss high-priority guys they like at camp, and Al says Bennie Fowler & Cody Latimer wouldn’t even make the team this year. Also, a fiery debate about how many Tight Ends the Broncos will keep on the roster in 2018. The latest on Urban Meyer being placed on administrative leave following accusations from 2015, and DMac tells Big Al the case has shades of Joe Paterno. The guys talk about the coordinators, and DMac plays some audio from Tom McMahon on how the Broncos’ Special Teams have been coming along. Al dives into DMac’s ‘Glennon Trubisky Doctrine’ and DMac explains why the Dallas Cowboys screwed up their QB room. Al says what’s exciting about Lamar Jackson is the work he does in the middle of the field, and DMac has some numbers from Case Keenum’s time with the Houston Cougars. Also, the latest on allegations involving OSU Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer, and why VJ’s voice is the one being heard at camp this year. The boys laugh about Marquette King’s swag, and Big Al wants to bring back Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to help out the Broncos secondary. Also, Big Al is frustrated with the Hall of Fame’s beef with Terrell Owens, and says Owens was the first of his kind when it comes to selfish receivers. Al & DMac talk about the coaches & what they think about Paxton Lynch’s day of practice. DMac notices that VJ was upset today at camp. DMac asks Al how he knew he was having a bad day at camp, and Al mentions the stacked, loaded defense he was on.
