Tuesday July 31st, 2018

The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! The guys talk to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post about the Rockies bad road loss at the hands of the St Louis Cardinals, and the panic setting in around the NL West as the LA Dodgers continue to make power moves at the MLB trade deadline. James Palmer of NFL Network joins the show to talk about how Eagles Camp differs from Broncos Camp, and if there’s anything different about Special Teams drills.

LISTEN TO HOUR ONE HERE!!!

The guys talk about precious moments in the NFL, and how close each player is to be critically injured in every practice. Derek Wolfe’s neck stinger is discussed, as well as Garett Bolles’ pain tolerance. Al says Courtland Sutton is a true ‘jump ball guy’ that reminds him of Rod Smith, and the boys agree there’s just nobody like Von Miller, not even Bradley Chubb. In the Big 3, Al recognizes Terrell Owens as one of the best ever, and DMac can’t get enough of Ron Leary’s fight with Todd Davis at Training Camp 2018. DMac doesn’t want Johnny Manziel’s dreams just to be dreams, and is keeping an eye on his next game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Al takes a look around the NFL and proclaims that Denver needs a backup quarterback similar to Trevor Siemian. DMac asks if Al would be interested in a QB like Matt Moore, Teddy Bridgewater or Josh McCown over Paxton Lynch as the Broncos’ backup.

LISTEN TO HOUR TWO HERE!!!

Al says Courtland Sutton is a beast, and stood out in the first day of padded practice. Al likes DaeSean Hamilton’s quickness at the top of his routes, and tells DMac Jake Butt is no joke. DMac says Case Keenum got lucky last year, and Al is pumped about Denver’s linebackers. The boys talk about reps in practice, and what drills need players to warm up before they attempt them. Big Al says it’s not on the Broncos to get guys ready to play, it’s on the players themselves. The guys talk to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post about the Rockies bad road loss at the hands of the St Louis Cardinals, and the panic setting in around the NL West as the LA Dodgers continue to make power moves at the MLB trade deadline. Listen to the interview HERE! James Palmer of NFL Network joins the show to talk about how Eagles Camp differs from Broncos Camp, and if there’s anything different about Special Teams drills. Al voices his concern about Denver’s backup quarterback situation, and Palmer reminds him things like this take time. Palmer believes the Broncos could be a contender, but isn’t sure they still can be with Paxton Lynch or Chad Kelly at the helm & an injured Case Keenum. Listen to the interview HERE!

LISTEN TO HOUR THREE HERE!!!

Big Al declares Billy Turner the best Tackle on the Broncos roster, and DMac defends Emmanuel Sanders. Al is extremely worried about the Broncos secondary, and DMac wonders why nobody is talking about Royce Freeman. We hear audio from Bradley Roby on how Isaac Yiadom is coming along, and Al marvels at the star power on the Los Angeles Rams. Also, Al & DMac try to figure out what the Colorado Rockies should do about their 7th inning woes. DMac explains his theory for the Rockies to work themselves into the playoffs in the NL, and Big Al has a Denzel Washington joke. Also, the boys take calls on what to do about the Broncos offensive line.
