The Drive with DMac & Chad Brown LIVE IN STUDIO! DMac laughs at Danica Patrick’s monologue to begin the ESPYS & Chad talks about Michael Porter Jr.’s back surgery. The Miami Dolphins’ National Anthem policy is put under a microscope, and the Dolphins are currently the only NFL team dishing out additional punishments for protesting the anthem.
DMac & Chad discuss screaming at players too much or too little, and the most effective ways to coach kids. Also, DMac says it’s about time the Broncos formed a plan & Chad wants the Broncos coaching staff to take a long look in the mirror. DMac wants a shot at Carmelo Anthony back in Denver, and Chad takes a look at where Von Miller lands in terms of NFL jersey sales. Also, DMac laughs at Danica Patrick’s monologue to begin the ESPYS & Chad talks about Michael Porter Jr.’s back surgery. Chad says the situation will get muddy before it gets clear.
Chad & DMac talk about the NFL preseason & if Roger Goodell has some work to do fixing the policy on National Anthem protests before the season begins. Also, Hard Knocks & player health when it comes to NFL practice. Former Broncos QB Brian Griese joins the show to say the Raiders will be different this year, and the Rams & Sean McVay will be looking to make a statement. Also, Brian describes what it’s like in the booth when a broadcast is going off the rails, and clock management in the NFL. The guys talk about fantasy football for the 2018 season, and DMac tells Chad why he will be auto-drafting his team again. We take a look at the NFL schedule, and if there are any changes that need to be made to it. The guys tinker with the NFL schedule a little, and DMac wants to expand the NFL product to different locations, such as Toronto, Canada. DMac suggests added rest for players & expanded rosters, and tells Chad about the NFL Red Zone fan perspective. Also, Chad explains why fans are clamoring for too much bad football.
The guys talk about the ESPYS and decide if Danica Patrick’s jokes were funny. Big Sexy pulls some sound of DMac in ’98 asking Doug Flutie if being short has held him back as a QB in Buffalo. DMac makes one last push for Carmelo Anthony to make a Denver return, and Jim Kelly makes a passionate ESPYS speech. Danny Amendola comments on the Patriots coaching staff, and Chad says you don’t want your head coach to be ‘one of the boys.’ DMac says Belichick must burn players out, and the guys decide if teams can win consistently without a pressure cooker coaching mentality. Chad & DMac talk about the pure form of baseball becoming extinct, and point out how different the rules were back in the day. DMac offers up some suggestions to make the game even better.
