DMac: Von Miller human, not ‘irresponsible,’ following speeding ticket

Jul 19, 2018, 8:31 AM | Updated: 8:31 am

What Von Miller does on the field Sundays for the Denver Broncos is superhuman, but a habit one the roadways has “The Drive” host DMac calling the pass rusher not “irresponsible” but rather human.

Per the Denver Post, police in Arapahoe County cited Miller for speeding up to 39 miles per hour over the speed limit, making it at least his fifth traffic ticket in five years and second speeding ticket in 2018.

On Wednesday, DMac admitted he was “going to lose that argument” if he defended Miller’s pavement mistakes, but he did implore listeners to have a human perspective on the issue.

“I’m just telling you, it’s a speed trap area. And if anybody’s looking to rip on Von and say he’s irresponsible, you’re not going to get that from me on this one,” DMac said.

DMac’s co-host, Chad Brown, said “most of us are guilty” of speeding, but there’s not a “whole lot to stand on” when you’re going 71 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour area.

“I think you’ve got a case with 6 miles per hour over. With 10 miles per hour over you’ve got a case,” Brown said. “But 71 in a 45, I think you’ve just got to accept what’s coming to you and realize I’ve got to set my alarm five minutes earlier so I don’t have to go 71 in a 45.”

Miller told the Denver Post in 2013 he has “trouble with the pedal to the medal,” but he was working to “fix that.”
