The Drive with Big Al & Big Sexy LIVE IN STUDIO! Nuggets General Manager Arturas Karnisovas joins the show to explain why Missouri’s Michael Porter Jr. was their guy in the lottery, and his confidence in the Nuggets training staff to help Porter Jr. get his back right heading into the 2018-2019 season.
Al & Big Sexy talk about the selection of Michael Porter Jr. to the Denver Nuggets at No. 14 overall in the NBA Draft, and what the Nuggets do now with Kenneth Faried. Big Al says there’s no place in the NBA for a big man that can’t shoot, and Big Sexy is afraid of the setbacks Porter Jr. has already suffered. In the Big 3, the guys laugh about Johnny Manziel trying to make a comeback in the NFL, and hear June Jones’ comments on why Johnny should still be in the league. The guys talk about Michael Porter Jr. fitting in with the Denver Nuggets, and Big Sexy tries to explain to Al what Draymond Green has that no other PF in the Western Conference does. The guys agree if Kenneth Faried developed a little ‘dawg’ in him like Draymond has, Denver would be better off.
Al & Big Sexy discuss whether or not Carson Wentz deserves to be considered with the Top 10 players in the NFL, and debate if the system makes the QB, or the QB is the reason their team is successful on offense. The guys discuss what Broncos players could work their way into the NFL Top 100 in the 2018 season, and Big Al points out some running backs he has an eye on this year, including Royce Freeman & Sony Michel. Al & Big Sexy discuss Terry Rozier tricking Danny Ainge into leaking the Celtics pick on a LIVE broadcast moments before Boston was on the clock during the NBA Draft. Big Al starts to wonder if any information is safe, and Big Sexy notes this isn’t the first time social media has thrown a wrench into teams’ draft plans. The guys talk about the best stories from the NBA Draft, including the Nuggets drafting Michael Porter Jr. and the Suns trading for Mikal Bridges after his hometown Philadelphia 76ers drafted him.
