The Drive with Big Al & Mike Pritchard LIVE in studio! DeMarcus Ware is joining the Denver Broncos as a part-time pass rush specialist, and the guys give their thoughts on how Ware can help Bradley Chubb.
Al & Pritch talk about getting Courtland Sutton on the field, and how great Emmanuel Sanders looks this year. Al wonders how Isaiah McKenzie will be used this year, and expects Jake Butt to be a big part of the offense. Pritch says there’s no doubt Phillip Lindsay should’ve been drafted, and is sure Lindsay will make the team. Al loves Denver’s WR group, and Pritch wonders how many WRs Denver will keep on their final 53-man roster. In The Big Three, Al & Pritch talk about the Patriots, Danny Amendola & Rob Gronkowski. Pritch says Gronk might be an option here in Denver if Belichick decides to trade him. Also, DeMarcus Ware is joining the Denver Broncos as a part-time pass rush specialist, and the guys give their thoughts on how Ware can help Bradley Chubb. Big Al asks Pritch about the World Cup coming to the U.S. and how it would work. The guys laugh about the headaches that would come with public transportation, and Al explains why he’s trying to keep Denver a secret & why we won’t land an NFL Draft.
In Football @ Four, Big Al asks Pritch what is going on in New England with Rob Gronkowski & the Patriots. Pritch notes that Tom Brady was upset with Belichick for trying to trade Gronk, and declares that the trade was likely for a quarterback. The guys talk about DeMarcus Ware joining the Broncos as a pass rush specialist and what it means for the organization. Big Al is eager to ink DeMarcus to a full-time contract, noting that with the money Denver’s invested in its pass rushers, everything must be on point. Pritch looks at things from Bradley Chubb’s perspective, and Al has love for Joey Porter & Chad Brown as coaches also. Al says Vance Joseph now understands the position he holds, and it doesn’t matter if it’s Billy Turner or Garett Bolles starting at Tackle with the way the ball is coming out of Case Keenum’s hand. Al laughs about the most awkward draft moments in NFL history, including the Alex Smith & Aaron Rodgers draft. Also, the possibility of a new role for Isaiah McKenzie & Courtland Sutton.
Al tells Pritch Carlos Henderson might get cut due to a crowded WR room, and Pritch hears some audio from VJ asking Carlos Henderson to show the team something. Pritch asks Big Al about his influences when he was a young pass rusher, similar to what DeMarcus Ware hopes to be for Bradley Chubb & the Broncos youngsters. Al says DeMarcus Ware might be too special as an individual to teach young players to be like him. Pritch asks Al what he loves about this game, and Al talks about the beautiful passes coming out of Case Keenum’s hand in under four seconds. Big Al is a big fan of the vertical passing game, and asks Pritch if he thinks we’ll see more of it with the Denver Broncos. Also, Al says don’t forget about Jake Butt & Phillip Lindsay. Big Al talks about VJ telling the guys to have a good summer, and Pritch talks about the setup for training camp. Al says the players & coaches know each other better now, and Pritch mentions the comfort in the community.
