The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Former UNC Bears Mens Basketball Coach BJ Hill joins the show to talk about paying players & if Arizona should face any more discipline after Sean Miller & the Cats were investigated by the FBI for providing benefits.
DMac mentions the importance of being a champion, and how the Washington Capitals avoided the pit of misery all season. Big Sexy brings up the partying the Caps were doing after the game, and DMac explains why it’s weird to win a championship on the road. DMac asks Big Al if the Caps will be invited to the White House after their Stanley Cup win, and Al explains why things have been uncomfortable with NFL players & the White House. In the Big 3, DMac brings up Shohei Ohtani’s UCL injury & DL designation, and Big Al says the move is a major blow to baseball. Big Al can’t believe the news about Kellen Winslow Jr. being charged with burglary, and DMac asks Al what we can expect out of the Rockies back at home against the D-Backs. Former UNC Bears Mens Basketball Coach BJ Hill joins the show to talk about paying players & if Arizona should face any more discipline after Sean Miller & the Cats were investigated by the FBI for providing benefits. An NCAA investigation found Hill completed coursework & provided benefits to players, and we hear Hill’s side of the story from the Bears coach himself. Listen to the interview HERE!
Big Al loses his mind about what to expect from the Broncos offense this season. Al thinks the Broncos offense can put up numbers similar to the top five offenses from last year, and DMac laughs & tries to bring Al back down to Earth. Al says this Broncos offense has the chance to be truly dynamic, and DMac says Al is being a ‘juke-box hero.’ Al says if the Broncos are dealing with injuries all bets are off, and there’s nothing like a young running back to step in & be stellar behind Denver’s O-Line with Veldheer at Left Tackle. Oregon State Beavers pitcher Luke Heimlich went undrafted for a second straight year in the MLB Draft after pleading guilty to molesting a 6-year old relative. Al gives DMac some reasons why the Rockies shouldn’t give Heimlich a look. The guys talk about Terrell Owens and his Hall of Fame induction. Big Al mentions some reasons why T.O. would say he’s not going to his induction, including the idea to make a documentary out of it. DMac thinks T.O. is crying for attention, and expects him to be there for the ceremony.
DMac talks about the downfall of the Patriots, and Tom Brady’s love for his trainer, Alex Guerrero. The guys talk about Guerrero defending the recently suspended Julian Edelman, and if Rob Gronkowski would ever be traded by New England. We hear from Tom Brady at the Super Bowl & from Tom vs Time talking about Alex Guerrero & why it was a miracle that New England won Super Bowl LI. Also, Big Al wonders why Kevin Durant would want to leave Golden State & the boys draw comparisons to Brady, Belichick and the Patriots. The guys pay their respects to Anthony Bourdain, and DMac asks Al if it’s over tonight for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Al tells DMac he doesn’t want to see LeBron lose his final game in Cleveland.
