The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! The guys talk about ‘natural captains’ and how Von Miller has been working on himself through the years. DMac says DT is similar to Champ Bailey, and there’s something about being from Texas or Georgia that helps with leadership.
The guys hear from Emmanuel Sanders at Broncos OTAs, and agree they are going to miss Aqib Talib’s antics. The guys talk about ‘natural captains’ and how Von Miller has been working on himself through the years. DMac says DT is similar to Champ Bailey, and there’s something about being from Texas or Georgia that helps with leadership. Also, Sanders’ comments on a passing camp over the summer, and why Al thinks Sanders won’t be there if Keenum has a camp. In the Big 3, DMac is loving that Tiger parked his giant yacht in the Hamptons prior to the U.S. Open, and Big Al says that’s a ‘big boy move.’ Al brings up Antonio Brown calling out Mike Tomlin & Bruce Arians, and DMac agrees Brown is a loose cannon. The guys talk about the Rockies, and why the team goes as Bryan Shaw goes. DMac takes a look at Bryan Shaw’s big Colorado contract, and Big Al mentions the importance of middle relief at Coors & why we need to get Shaw going.
The effects of social media are put under a microscope, and Al & DMac want to make sure Emmanuel Sanders isn’t getting caught up in the sauce when it comes to twitter. We hear from Broncos S Justin Simmons at OTAs about how Su’a Cravens has been doing so far, and DMac asks Al if it helps having two different players in the secondary that went to the same school, like Simmons & Isaac Yiadom. The boys bring up Deion Sanders’ comments on NBC about Oklahoma QB & No. 9 overall MLB draft pick Kyler Murray, and why Murray should dedicate his sole focus on baseball for the rest of his life. Al mentions the love of sport, and the difference in playing a sport for fun & being truly special at another. The boys bring up vanity, and if that plays into Kyler Murray’s decision to play one year at QB for the University of Oklahoma before going to play baseball for the Oakland A’s.
Big Al changes his opinion on Emmanuel Sanders, and tells DMac his favorite players are the ones that put their heads down & grind without saying a word. DMac explains why playing Emmanuel Sanders in the slot or as a punt-returner wouldn’t work. DMac reads some breaking news about Shane Ray, and Big Al looks for Shaq Barrett to be the starter while Ray recovers. DMac sticks up for Bradley Chubb, and Al thinks it’s still too early to roll Chubb out there as a starter. Also, DMac explains why the news about Shane Ray seems fishy. The guys touch on the criticism of LeBron James about not picking up his teammates before overtime, and hear audio from LeBron mentioning that the Cavs are in the NBA Finals competing for a championship.
