The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! DMac tells the listeners what it’s like for Case Keenum being in John Elway & Peyton Manning’s shadow. Denver 7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to talk about the Bradley Chubb pick & what Broncos fans can expect out of Chubb in year one.
DMac tells the listeners what it’s like for Case Keenum being in John Elway & Peyton Manning’s shadow. DMac wants the new Broncos to embrace the city, while Big Al wants them to embrace the moment, noting that he did everything in his power to get back to Colorado. DMac says he likes smart rookies like DaeSean Hamilton, and Al is happy about the Winnipeg Jets beating the Nashville Predators in the NHL playoffs. Also, Masai Ujiri on firing Dwane Casey & Al’s stunning visual of seeing a robot running. DMac says times have changed with the Broncos’ rookie camp, and things are down to basic walkthroughs to prevent injury. The fellas go through the steps regarding media relationships with new players.
Big Al doesn’t think Josh Allen is the future in Buffalo, and is still worried about Baker Mayfield’s height. DMac asks Al if he still believes in Paxton Lynch, and the guys deliberate which Broncos room is the weakest. DMac names Lamar Jackson as a sleeper at QB if Joe Flacco gets injured, and Al looks for a different name that nobody is talking about. We hear from Mason Rudolph about receiving a text from Big Ben, and Al says that’s just the new way of communicating. The guys talk about the Broncos last two draft classes being night & day, and DeMarcus Walker is happy about getting his weight back up. Denver 7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to talk about the Bradley Chubb pick & what Broncos fans can expect out of Chubb in year one. Al tells Troy it’s an interesting time right now trying to figure out Chad Kelly, and DMac can’t wait to say ‘I told you so’ about any of the first-round QBs. Al & DMac are happy about the new guys & their positive energy, and Al explains why these new athletes in Denver don’t feel privileged. Also, Al explains why this is a ‘grind it out’ period for the young guys. DMac opens up the story about David Price getting carpal tunnel, and if it was caused by the game ‘Fortnite.’ We hear audio from Price himself about playing video games in the clubhouse. The guys give Mother’s Day shout-outs to the moms they love, and DMac watches highlights of all the first-round rookies. Big Al says Bradley Chubb won’t sell tickets like a quarterback would in Denver. Also, DMac tries to figure out what the broncos have against DeAngelo Henderson.
