The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! DMac thinks Miller must morph into DeMarcus Ware so he can mentor Chubb, and Denver needs to copy the Rockies plan for success.
Big Al compares Von Miller to Lawrence Taylor, and DMac says the Broncos were on auto-draft when they landed Miller & Chubb. DMac thinks Miller must morph into DeMarcus Ware so he can mentor Chubb, and Denver needs to copy the Rockies plan for success. DMac was loving the matchup between Jon Gray & Shohei Ohtani, and is not concerned about the Rockies dropping a game to the Angels today. Big Al is excited about the series between the Rockets & the Warriors, and tells DMac to get his popcorn ready. Also, Al wants to know what Aaron Rodgers will be paid now that Matt Ryan has a new contract, LeBron should win MVP and the Mets bat out of order. We hear audio from the Rockies game, as Shohei Ohtani gets a hit as a DH. Al is anxious to see all the new contracts the elite QBs in the NFL are going to get.
Big Al feels for the NFL veterans still out there struggling to get signed, such as Antonio Gates & Dez Bryant. DMac asks Al about Colin Kaepernick & Eric Reid, and the guys try to figure out why Rakeem Nunez-Roches cleared waivers. DMac brings up payments & salaries in college athletics, as well as what Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban makes, and Al tries to decide what college players should be getting paid. DMac says the Rockies losing today is no big deal, and Al weighs in on how much money the ‘A’ in Alabama is making for the school. DMac says welcome to America, and not everyone at your job makes equal pay. DMac plays some audio from Brandon Stokley on the Broncos kicking themselves if Josh Rosen or Josh Allen are successful & Bradley Chubb flops. Al says Josh Allen didn’t dominate the college game, but the Josh Rosen pick could come back to bite Denver. Also, Peyton Manning may be coming back to the NFL in a Carolina Panthers ownership role.
We hear from CJ Anderson on if there are hard feelings between him & John Elway, and Big Al is proud of CJ asking for a one-year deal in Carolina to prove himself once again. DMac wonders if Baker Mayfield was the Patriots number one guy, even ahead of Sam Darnold. Also, the national perception about the Case Keenum signing & the Bradley Chubb pick. DMac says it’s easy to rip on the Browns, and Big Al explains why they screw up the draft every time. Also, why DMac was ready to leverage the future for Sam Darnold & why last year got so ugly. Big Al talks about his favorite things from the Luther Vandross concert, and DMac remembers his massive hit ‘BourquewitdaBourque.’ Also, Big Al says he wants to see the Browns work out in the NFL.
