More pressure on the Broncos defense in 2018?: ‘Pritchard & Cecil’

Apr 25, 2018, 12:55 PM

Pritchard & Cecil – 04/25/2018 – Pritchard & Cecil live in studio. Wednesday’s show the guys talk about how other teams draft plans tomorrow might impact the Broncos draft plans, how important this draft is for John Elway this season and if there is more pressure on the Broncos defense this season with a revamped offense.

Listen to hour one here!

Hour one Pritchard & Cecil weigh in on the first round of the draft for the Broncos tomorrow night. Cecil Lammey is fired up about the Broncos possibly taking a certain player at number five overall, but he is not happy about it. Can he talk some sense into the Broncos? Cecil Lammey gives his thoughts on the first round of the draft and who he wants to see the Broncos take a look at with the fifth overall pick. Also, Mike Pritchard drops the mic about the Broncos drafting a quarterback tomorrow night, and how it would make no sense for 2018. What do the veteran players think about draft a quarterback? The guys go back to some comments made yesterday by Chris Harris Jr. on possibly drafting a quarterback.

Plus, Mike Pritchard says this is the most pressure filled moment in John Elway’s career as a general manager. This includes his playing career as well. The guys go into how important of a draft this is for the Broncos and John Elway.

Listen to hour two here!

Hour two Pritchard & Cecil talk about some theories out there that if the Broncos move back and collect first round/second round picks that can get better faster. The guys look at why the Broncos need great players right now and not just a bunch of good players. Mike Pritchard explains why the Broncos are better off getting one great player with the teams fifth overall pick than to move back collect picks and draft a bunch of good players. Mike Pritchard looks at teams like the Browns the last few years that have moved back with a ton of picks and how those teams are built right now. Cecil Lammey agrees and talks about why Super Bowl teams usually build their roster in a different way that multiple first round picks.

Also, the guys get into other teams draft plans in the first round such as the New York Giants. The guys get into how or if the Giants or any other team might mess up the Broncos draft plans tomorrow night in the first round.

Listen to hour three here!

Hour three Pritchard & Cecil get into if there is more pressure on the Broncos defense now that the team has brought in Case Keenum at quarterback in 2018 and possibly beyond. The guys listen to some comments made by Broncos linebacker Todd Davis yesterday at Dove Valley about that very topic. The guys discuss what the Broncos defense needs to do this year in order to improve and support what is hopefully a boosted offense in 2018 for the Broncos. The guys also discuss which draft prospects for the Broncos are on the table at number five tomorrow night. Cecil Lammey also breaks down our coverage as he will be live in Dallas for the draft this weekend.

For the rest of the final hour the guys talk about some other draft news from around the NFL right now and some draft news as the first round approaches tomorrow night.
