The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Denver Post Rockies Beat Writer Patrick Saunders joins the show to say Jon Gray was supposed to be the rock in the Rockies lineup everyone could count on, and Gray doesn’t currently have the focus required of an ‘Ace.’ Denver7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to talk about Brian Griese’s career as a Denver Broncos QB & why he has respect for Griese’s journey.

LISTEN TO HOUR ONE HERE!!!

Big Al says the Nuggets are in the toughest position they can possibly be in after an amazing run. DMac says Al is being negative, and Al explains why he’s not okay with Nuggets coach Michael Malone saying all the pressure is on the Timberwolves. Al says the ratings last night for the Nuggets game must have been good, and he really wishes Denver’s game this week against the Timberwolves was at home. Raiders LB Bruce Irvin has beef with Marquette King, tweeting out that Denver is where King truly wanted to be the whole time. DMac asks Big Al about confidence, and if it’s a big deal when players don’t see themselves as ‘the man’ at the next level. Also, Al finds out how DMac defines a ‘bust’, and brings up some former Bengals as examples of star athletes with ‘bust’ coaches. Denver Post Rockies Beat Writer Patrick Saunders joins the show to say Jon Gray was supposed to be the rock in the Rockies lineup everyone could count on, and Gray doesn’t currently have the focus required of an ‘Ace.’ Big Al asks Patrick about Charlie Blackmon’s new contract, and things Nolan Arenado is looking at as his new deal nears. Also, Patrick decides if the Monforts even want to pay Nolan the millions of dollars it will require to keep the star third baseman around Denver. Listen to the interview HERE!

LISTEN TO HOUR TWO HERE!!!

The guys talk about Todd McShay’s latest mock draft, and if Al is excited about the Broncos taking Denzel Ward. Al says McShay hit a home run with Ward, and DMac drills down what QBs, if any, Big Al would take over Ward in the draft. Al tells DMac no QB drafted should have to sit for two years, and DMac gets frustrated trying to figure out Al’s draft formula, saying he’s changed his tune from previous weeks. Big Al says he can see three QBs being taken in the 2018 NFL Draft before the Broncos are on the clock at No. 5 overall. Al says Saquon Barkley & Bradley Chubb are stars that he wouldn’t mind having, and DMac backs Al into a corner about Paxton Lynch. Denver7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to talk about Brian Griese’s career as a Denver Broncos QB & why he has respect for Griese’s journey. Troy says the broncos could take a QB at No. 5 overall if they fall in love with one, but that QB may not play much this season. Also, Troy says he would pass on a QB in the draft no matter what if he was Elway, and Al mentions the two QBs he thinks are truly special in the draft. Listen to the interview HERE!

LISTEN TO HOUR THREE HERE!!!

The guys decide if the Nuggets are drained from being on the road, as they prepare to face the Minnesota Timberwolves in a road matchup. DMac asks Al what makes Denver so good at home, and if history will define what they do this year. The guys debate smoke screens when it comes to the NFL Draft, and disagree about the Chicago Bears’ move to get Mitch Trubisky in last year’s draft. Al thinks the Bears were bluffed into moving up in the draft, and DMac says it was part of the plan to block other teams. Al tells DMac he must understand Denver’s management is a little different than everyone else. The guys are looking forward to the Nuggets game on Wednesday, and take some calls on momentum in sports affecting the outcome of games. DMac compares the Nuggets’ momentum to the Rockies when they went on a run in ’07, and Big Al explains what’s so bizarre about the entire situation.
