The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Mark Schlereth’s bench press in broken down, and we review DMac’s play-by-play of the event. Also, DMac asks Al if he’s against bringing in Richard Sherman & Drew Brees. Big Al says the trades of DeShone Kizer & Tyrod Taylor change everything, and we’re going to find out real fast who the Browns value at No 1 overall.
The guys laugh about DMac’s funny questions while covering Aqib Talib in Denver, and Dmac says Talib had good moments & bad. Mark Schlereth’s bench press in broken down, and we review DMac’s play-by-play of the event. Also, DMac asks Al if he’s against bringing in Richard Sherman & Drew Brees. In the Big 3, the boys talk about a new contract in Colorado for Carlos Gonzalez, and Al asks DMac what’s going on with the LA Rams & if they are now the best in the NFC West. Al wants to know if Johnny Bowlen can still be considered for Broncos ownership after his plea deal in his DUI case, and tells DMac the Browns offense looks shockingly good with Jarvis Landry & it opens the door for Cousins to Cleveland. Also, Peyton Manning remains undecided on his future. Drew Brees speculation has cracked open, as Brees has yet to sign a new deal with New Orleans & likely won’t until mid-March. DMac dreams of pairing Drew Brees with Baker Mayfield in Denver, and the guys decide how long it would take for the 39-year-old Brees to hand over the reins to Mayfield.
The Cleveland Browns are set to acquire Tyrod Taylor from the Buffalo Bills for a third-round pick, and DMac asks Al who the Browns will draft now that Taylor is a Brown. DMac thinks this move makes AJ McCarron an option in Denver once again, and breaks down tape of Case Keenum in his toughest games. DMac says Tyrod Taylor being off the table shakes up the NFL free agency pool, and wonders if Drew Brees’ brother could persuade him to play for Denver. Muhammad Wilkerson’s mother calls in to ‘Boomer & Gio’ to rip Manish Mehta, asking what Mehta’s problem is with Wilkerson. Al says Wilkerson’s mother may have been out of line, and he doesn’t feel comfortable talking about another person’s moral compass. Big Al says the trade of DeShone Kizer changes everything, and we’re going to find out real fast who the Browns value at No 1 overall. The guys agree Cleveland has a target in mind at quarterback in the first five picks of the 2018 NFL Draft, and Al is surprised AJ McCarron didn’t land with the Browns. DMac says the Glennon & Trubisky draft strategy is now the QB formula and the new standard when it comes to drafting your QB of the future.
DMac asks Al if Tyrod Taylor was a real consideration here in Denver, and Al says it looks like the Cleveland Browns are finally ready to play some football. DMac says we were dangerously close to having Tyrod Taylor here in Denver, and Al says Taylor is a bridge QB. Also, Al thinks the No 1 overall pick is back in play & the Broncos can now go after Josh Allen or Josh Rosen. Big Al decides if Josh Allen or Josh Rosen will be there for the Broncos to draft at No 5, and what the NY Giants will do at No 2. Also, DMac says stay far away from a pick in the 20’s if you’re Denver. The guys break down the news about ESPN’s Sean McDonough leaving Monday Night Football to return to college football, and who could replace McDonough. DMac says the Browns will dictate the draft, and they may love Sam Darnold.
