The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! The guys talk about the value of Trevor Siemian, and remind the listeners they were ready to trade Siemian as far back as one year ago. DMac doesn’t share Al’s thoughts about the value of a top-flight QB, and says he would hold on to a top-5 pick instead of trading it for Tom Brady or Nick Foles. Also, DMac’s beef with Emmanuel Sanders & Mark Cuban’s bad week.
Lindsey Vonn takes bronze in her women’s downhill Olympic event, and DMac reads some criticism from Vonn’s father after her run calling for Lindsey to ‘risk more.’ Also, Big Al says injuries such as the one Ryan Shazier sustained are reason for a player to retire from the NFL, and he doesn’t want to see Shazier play in the NFL again after the spinal injury he endured. DMac gauges Al’s thoughts on the choices that are out there for the Broncos, and has Al rank his choices in order of priority, including Rosen, Foles and Cousins.
DMac lays out his choices for the Broncos, including Baker Mayfield with a top-5 pick and Sam Bradford in free agency. The guys go through Mel Kiper’s latest mock draft, and Big Al laughs at who Kiper has the Browns taking at No. 1 overall. Also, DMac finds out the highest Big Al would draft Lamar Jackson. DMac says he likes Sam Darnold, but Darnold needs more time. Big Al thinks it’s better to be big than small in the NFL, and DMac says with the Trevor Siemian trade rumors, keeping Chad Kelly around makes sense. DMac makes fun of Lindsey Vonn’s dad, and says even LaVar Ball wouldn’t talk about his kids like that. Big Al talks about parents that struggle with their kids’ success, and compares Vonn’s father to Barry Sanders’. DMac knows Siemian’s value is as a backup QB, but asks Al what the value of Paxton Lynch is. Big Al says Cousins & Lynch will be the only QBs on the roster, and debates the possibility of Chad Kelly making the practice squad. Also, the guys decide what other teams around the NFL would welcome Paxton with open arms.
The guys dive into the latest Emmanuel Sanders drama, and DMac asks Al why Sanders had a down year in 2017. Big Al says there’s nothing to Sanders wanting to play for the Cowboys, and he’s still a top-20 WR in the league. Al says he’s seen Sanders make big plays with no regard for his body, and DMac says he’s heard stories about Sanders being a terrible teammate. DMac says it doesn’t matter who is in the Nuggets division, and the guys define why they like Adam Silver. We hear audio from Mark Cuban about tanking on purpose, and Big Al wonders if Cuban will be forced to sell the team. Also, whether or not Kyle Shanahan should be a Super Bowl champion and if the Cleveland Browns have the horses. What’s next for Trevor Siemian, and all about the Colorado Avalanche big comeback win over Vancouver last night.
