Does A.J. McCarron make sense for the Broncos?: ‘Pritchard & Cecil’

Feb 16, 2018, 12:16 PM

Pritchard & Cecil – 02/16/2018 – Pritchard & Cecil live in studio. Friday’s show Pritchard & Cecil talk about if A.J. McCarron is a fit for the Broncos at quarterback, some defensive players to watch this off-season and the Broncos offensive line possibly being a focus point.

Listen to hour one here!

Hour one Pritchard & Cecil talk about the latest developments in the NFL regarding free agent quarterbacks. The guys get into A.J. McCarron now being set to become an unrestricted free agent. Pritchard & Cecil discuss how they both do NOT want A.J. McCarron as the next starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos. The Fellas look at McCarron’s career in college and his time in the NFL so far. The guys highlight some of the best and some of the bad things that A.J. McCarron would bring to any NFL team. Mike Pritchard also gives his thoughts on how huge of a mistake it would be for John Elway as GM if McCarron was brought in as the teams permanent starting quarterback for the next few years.

Cecil Lammey gives his reaction as well and breaks down A.J. McCarron’s throws when he saw some game action with the Bengals in Denver. The guys talk about that and much as the Broncos off-season heats up with more quarterback discussion.

Listen to hour two here!

Hour two Pritchard & Cecil talk about some defensive players from around the league that the Broncos could have interest in. The guys talk about former Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson and if the Broncos would be a fit for him this upcoming season. The guys debate whether or not the Broncos will be a contender enough to draw interest from veteran players such as Johnson. Cecil Lammey makes the point that if the Broncos find their quarterback and sign another top free agent they will contend for the division in 2018. The guys also take a look at some other defensive players that could hit the open market.

Pritchard & Cecil also talk about Derek Wolfe and when we might see him return to action before the season starts. The guys also talk about if the Broncos need to add some more depth on the defensive line.

Listen to hour three here!

Hour three Pritchard & Cecil start the hour talking about how the number one priority for the Broncos should be to sign offensive lineman Nate Solder. The guys get into how no matter who the Broncos decide to go with at quarterback they should make it a priority to go after Solder and solidify the teams offensive line. The guys break down why patching up the offensive line should be another huge priority this off-season. Mike Pritchard talks about how much value there is in having a great offensive line. Cecil Lammey agrees and gives some more points as well.

For the rest of hour three the guys get into a number of subjects including the Broncos prospects of possibly getting A.J. McCarron as their next starting quarterback. The guys break down and explain why that would be a bad move for the Broncos and that they should stay away from McCarron.
