The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! James Palmer of NFL Network joins the show to talk about how special that Philadelphia Super Bowl win was.
DMac isn’t done with his rant about the DIA train, and talks about how to be a good-looking nimrod and why he’s happy with the process. Al has made his mind up about the Broncos coaching staff this season already, and says the coaching staff needs to develop a QB this season or it’s a bust. Also, whether or not Denver got lazy with the development of Paxton Lynch. In the Big 3 @ 3:30, DMac talks about the Eagles being in no rush to find an OC after the departure of Frank Reich, and Al wants to know what team DMac sees drafting Baker Mayfield. Also, the horrific Olympics turn that has everyone in fear. James Palmer of NFL Network joins the show to talk about how special that Philadelphia Super Bowl win was. Big Al asks James if Doug Pederson’s offense will be duplicated, and James lets us behind the scenes of Super Bowl LII, sharing an inside story about Brian Dawkins’ emotional connection with Philly. Listen to the interview HERE!
Big Al says RPO is the offense of the future, and it’s impossible to defend due to the one-on-ones it draws with the safeties and corners. Al tells DMac if the Broncos don’t land Cousins the offseason will be considered a disaster, and if Peyton would have ran an option his way, he would have put Manning on his back. Also, DMac finds out who Bradley Chubb is and who Mason Rudolph is. The guys talk about the size of Cam Newton, and why Tim Tebow’s offense is different from Doug Pederson’s RPO offense we saw in the Super Bowl. Also, why Nick Foles is just a simple pocket-passer. Al tells DMac the NFC East is becoming an RPO division, and he’s interested to see who the NY Giants will be taking with the No.2 overall pick. Also, why you don’t need to be an NFL-ready QB to be a success in an RPO offense.
DMac talks about being critical of athletes around the time of the NFL Combine, and Al tries to figure out what really happened with Malcolm Butler in Super Bowl LII. DMac plays some audio of Mark Schlereth making a pitch for Kirk Cousins, and Al says you never know. Also, the rumors floating around about Emmanuel Sanders to the Cowboys & moving on from Demaryius Thomas. Al is having second thoughts about paying Kirk Cousins 30 million a year, and is starting to consider Lamar Jackson as a Top-10 pick. Al asks if VJ will be here next year, and DMac is afraid he’s being set up. The guys take calls on if there are any free-agents out there that would take the Broncos over the top, or if drafting Barkley with a Top-5 pick would be worth it to turn the franchise around. Also, if walking away from Saquon Barkley would be like walking away from LaDanian Tomlinson.
