The Drive with DMac & Chad Brown LIVE in studio! Gina Mizell of the Denver Post joins the show to tell DMac & Chad she’s a bit surprised the Denver Nuggets couldn’t get a deal done to move Kenneth Faried, and the big story line of the day is the Emmanuel Mudiay trade. Troy Renck of Denver7 joins the show to talk about the Jimmy Garoppolo deal & what impact it will have on the upcoming Kirk Cousins deal.
The guys check in on the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LII victory parade, and DMac wonders what Peyton Manning would have done if he was standing next to Jason Kelce during his victory speech. DMac laughs when Kelce says Lane Johnson needs to lay off the juice & calls Mike Lombardi a clown. In the Big 3, Jimmy Garoppolo sets the market for Kirk Cousins’ new upcoming deal, and Chad wonders if any of the Ball Bros. have potential. DMac can’t see why LeBron would leave Cleveland, and the guys break down the Nuggets trade involving Devin Harris & Emmanuel Mudiay. Gina Mizell of the Denver Post joins the show to tell DMac & Chad she’s a bit surprised the Denver Nuggets couldn’t get a deal done to move Kenneth Faried, and the big story line of the day is the Emmanuel Mudiay trade. Chad asks Gina what teams made the best deals, including Denver, and Gina says landing a veteran backup PG like Devin Harris was top priority. Also, Mizell says the Nuggets were never going to make a splash move, and didn’t accomplish everything they wanted to pull off. Listen to the interview HERE!
DMac goes over the Jimmy Garoppolo deal & what it means for the Broncos. Also, Chad Brown tries to figure out why the Garoppolo deal matters in Denver, and DMac can’t stop laughing at Jason Kelce’s outfit & speech at the Eagles’ parade. Chad asks Dmac if he’s seen the movie ROCKY, and DMac is disgusted that AJ McCarron is an option once more. DMac starts to shiver, and says it’s starting to feel like signing Cousins is a mistake. The guys take calls on the true value of Kirk Cousins, and the chances of John Elway moving up for Sam Darnold or staying put & selecting Baker Mayfield. DMac says it’s obvious John Elway’s guy is Josh Allen. Troy Renck of Denver7 joins the show to talk about the Jimmy Garoppolo deal & what impact it will have on the upcoming Kirk Cousins deal. Troy says an argument can be made that Garoppolo is better than Cousins, but the reality is Garoppolo hasn’t played enough. Chad asks Troy about Elway drafting a QB, and Troy reassures the guys that Elway is concerned with signing Cousins or Keenum before he worries about drafting a QB at No. 5 overall. Listen to the interview HERE!
DMac can’t get enough of Jason Kelce’s speech, and the guys talk about Tom Brady’s drop possibly costing the Patriots the game. Also, how major the decision to bench Malcolm Butler wound up being. Also, DMac asks if Denver can win without a Top-10 QB, and why we can’t pass on opportunities. DMac & Chad take calls on what the Broncos can do in free agency & the draft to address the starting QB spot in Denver. We hear audio from Nick Foles at the Philadelphia Eagles victory parade today, and DMac thinks boring is maybe what Denver needs at QB. Also, DMac admits how much he likes to make fun of everyone when they are on the road at dinner.
