The Drive with Big AL & DMac LIVE in studio! Big Al thinks Josh Rosen is the real deal, and says there’s no way Rosen falls to Denver. The guys compare PFF’s latest mock draft to ones on other platforms, and Big Al breaks down which ones evaluate talent & which ones strictly go by the numbers.
Tom Brady is questionable for this Sunday with a hand injury, and Big Al & DMac debate whether it will affect the Patriots or not. Big Al thinks Josh Rosen is the real deal, and says there’s no way Rosen falls to Denver. Also, the guys review PFF’s latest Mock Draft that has Baker Mayfield going No. 1 overall, and why the Patriots like Luke Falk. Al says Josh Allen at No. 1 overall makes no sense, and DMac mentions Tim Tebow getting invited to the New York Mets’ big-league camp. Also, Big Al laughs about Joe Thomas recruiting Drew Brees to Cleveland. Al & DMac discuss Michael Malone’s comments on the Nuggets home crowd, and if Kemba Walker would be a good fit in Denver. Big Al lays out the Nuggets’ tradeable assets, and says he likes Michael Malone’s style, but is a big fan of up-tempo.
The guys compare PFF’s latest mock draft to ones on other platforms, and Big Al breaks down which ones evaluate talent & which ones strictly go by the numbers. Al brings up trading Trevor Siemian, and if the Broncos will move back from pick No. 5 overall, or back into the first round. DMac says Elway will pick Josh Allen if the stars are gone, and it’s going to suck. Big Al compares Baker Mayfield’s stats to other QBs in the draft, and is astonished at Baker’s high level of play. DMac says Josh Allen’s numbers scream Brock Osweiler, and Al thinks if Baker was a little taller, he would be the unquestioned No. 1 overall pick. The guys talk short quarterbacks, and Big Al says Michael Vick could have been a Hall of Famer. Al builds the case for Baker Mayfield at No. 1 overall, and DMac agrees Vick & Mayfield’s skill-sets are unique.
DMac highlights the breaking news about Brock Olivo, and why he is on the move to Chicago as an assistant Special Teams coach. Big Al says NFL teams can become relevant outside of the draft quickly & through the right free agents, and DMac says the Patriots consistent success is staggering. Big Al talks about how the Broncos screwed up with Paxton Lynch, and why it was critical to start Lynch right away. DMac can’t see a scenario where Paxton starts next year, and Big Al leaves it up to the fellas. Al says Alex Smith would be a good fit in Jacksonville because he protects the football, and the callers call Al crazy for mentioning Denver bringing back Paxton Lynch as the day-one starter in ’18.
