The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! The boys debate Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. Al says a QB that can put it on the hashes in between the linebacker and the safety has NFL talent, and tells DMac what to look for when scouting upcoming QBs. Al says not many college teams are running NFL schemes, and the successful NFL QBs in today’s game are running systems similar to the ones they ran in college.
Dmac says Vance Joseph had to win last week to save his job, and the guys run down the QB prospects heading into the 2018 NFL Draft. Al tells DMac what next year’s schedule should look like for the Broncos, and says a great weekend of football is on tap. Also, former KC Chief Larry Johnson thinks he might have CTE, and Al asks DMac if he still feels sorry for today’s NFL players knowing what they know now. The guys talk who’s on the hot-seat, and Al says the Colts are below average without their star QB. Al is looking forward to a boring Broncos win, and thinks Frank Gore is a solid Hall of Fame player. DMac says if the Broncos are ever going to win a road game, this is their opportunity.
DMac throws out the possibility of Drew Brees as a free agent, and asks Al what QBs will land where. DMac is done with Paxton Lynch, and Al says not so fast, and that DMac is looking at things all wrong. The guys run through scenarios where Al would be fine moving forward with Paxton Lynch, and Al tells DMac Lamar Jackson is a better athlete than anyone the Broncos have on their current roster. DMac says there’s nothing that Paxton Lynch can do in the offseason to change his outlook.

Al says not many college teams are running NFL schemes, and the successful NFL QBs in today’s game are running systems similar to the ones they ran in college. DMac says Cam Newton is amazing, and is floored that Newton got caught on his long run, noting how fast & dynamic the NFL game is. Al agrees with DMac that Denver’s playmakers are no longer dynamic enough to keep up with today’s game. DMac says so much for the offseason being important, and the guys agree there is no way Denver can trade up high enough to scoop Josh Rosen. Also, who on the Broncos gets a Lifetime Achievement award.
