Big Al says we are now having the season we should have had last year here in Denver, and DMac tries to figure out what VJ is doing with Isaiah McKenzie. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter joins the show to talk about the relationships between John Elway, the San Francisco 49ers, and Adam Gase. Schefter says Gase was sending a personal message & stepping on throats with that onside kick, and is still clearly bothered by how Elway treated him. The guys get into the story of Peyton & Gase and their beef with Elway, after Elway allegedly spoke ill of Gase, costing him the 49ers HC job. Listen to the interview HERE! In the Big 3 @ 3:30, the guys talk about the NY Giants firing McAdoo, and if the Broncos should be firing any coaches. DMac asks Al if the stands will be missing fans this Sunday, and if Gronk’s one-game suspension was enough. DMac plays some of Mark Schlereth’s calls from Sunday, and Al notes that this drama with Adam Gase has become a bigger story than the game itself. Also, Isaiah McKenzie’s rookie blues and if he can get back on track or be shown the door.
Al & DMac discuss the lack of an ownership group currently in Denver, and Al says this Broncos organization always bounces back. Also, why Al is giving ownership & management the benefit of the doubt with no Peyton Manning at QB, and what Trevor Siemian is doing to his own career. The boys take calls on where the Broncos should go from here, and if Kyle Sloter is available for the taking still. Tone Loc Russ calls in to say John Elway is turning into Al Davis, and Denver is ready for what the Broncos will look like without Elway. Denver7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to say if the Broncos get blown out at home over the next few games, VJ may not be so safe, but the Broncos don’t want to run through four coaches in five years. DMac asks Troy is he’s expecting any changes before season’s end, and Troy mentions the historic records Denver is breaking with their awful play. Troy says the offense needs a complete overhaul, and DMac looks for motivation concerning John Elway, Matt Russell and the front office. Listen to the interview HERE!
Big Al says giving up long runs against teams like the Dolphins is a sign of Denver shutting it down for the year, and Miami’s onside kick was uncalled for & personal. Big Al mentions why he was so sure about this head coaching position being the worst job in the NFL to take, and tells DMac there is structure in the Bowlen trust after all. Al still wants Teddy Bridgewater, and says he is a true first-round talent that has slipped through the cracks. DMac says the Broncos are trying their best to win, and still getting blown out. Big Al is ready to give up first round draft picks for Andrew Luck, because he sees Luck as a quick fix. Callers ask if Eli Manning would be good in Denver, and Big Al fears introducing too many new concepts next season.
