The Nuggets have their season opener tonight in Utah and the NFL’s anthem drama continues to roll on. The hour wraps up with the fellas listening to the “Shame Game” that Big Sexy had to play earlier this morning on The Fan Morning Show and DMac pleading for people to be open to the idea of rotating Quarterbacks because other sports don’t have any issue rotating out a struggling player.
The second hour of the show underway with the conversation about the Broncos abandoning the run game too early in their loss this past Sunday against the Giants. Then, the fellas break down what’s going on with the Broncos Special Teams as Brandon McManus is currently dealing with some sort of slump as he missed two kicks in the Broncos’ loss on Sunday. DMac says the Broncos coaching staff panicked down 17 points in the third quarter. Alfred says we have to do a better job of focusing on these coordinator match-ups. The hour wraps talking about the arrogance the Broncos team/coaching staff were displaying last week with the game plan and plays that were called against the Giants on Sunday.
The third and final hour of The Drive on the road has Alfred saying the Broncos Defense can’t line up and play man the entire game, they’ll have to zone up at some time. The Linebackers struggled against the Giants but the Broncos Safeties played ‘off the chain.’ DMac says this Broncos loss to the Giants on Sunday shows it’s more than “just a bad game” with these Broncos, they’re building a trend. Matt “Money” Smith, play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Chargers joins the show to talk about the upcoming game on Sunday afternoon in LA. Money tells us the confidence level of the Chargers heading into Week 1’s loss to Denver and what’s changed with the team since then. We also get the book on the Broncos heading into Sunday, make Trevor Siemian beat them. They also focused on Garret Bolles in Week 1. Catch the conversation with Money HERE!
