The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE! DMac is in studio and Big Al is LIVE from Houston. Adam Schefter joins the show to tell the guys why we haven’t heard from Jerry Jones yet on Donald Trump’s comments, and to give his thoughts on Von Miller’s flag at a crucial moment in the game. Derek Wolfe joins the show to tell Al & DMac how he plans to move on from a tough loss in Buffalo. Wolfe says being on the road is no excuse for penalties & turnovers, and DMac asks Wolfe about Von Miller’s fake handshake drawing a flag. Troy Renck joins the show to talk about what’s next for the National Anthem & what the mood in the Broncos’ locker room was after a ton of penalties in Buffalo & the Oakland Raiders on tap.
Big Al tells DMac Von’s fake handshake was not worthy of a flag from the referee, and DMac mentions the game-changing play that could have been with Emmanuel Sanders. Adam Schefter joins the show to tell the guys why we haven’t heard from Jerry Jones yet on Donald Trump’s comments, and to give his thoughts on Von Miller’s flag at a crucial moment in the game. Schefter tells Al & DMac what Shannon Sharpe said to Derrick Thomas, and everyone laughs about how different the NFL is today & what draws a flag now compared to back then. Listen to the interview HERE! In the Big 3 at 3:30, Big Al says the combination of a bad gameplan & bad quarterback play led to the Broncos’ peril, and DMac hints at a possible injury to Siemian playing into his bad day at New Era Field. Derek Wolfe joins the show to tell Al & DMac how he plans to move on from a tough loss in Buffalo. Wolfe says being on the road is no excuse for penalties & turnovers, and DMac asks Wolfe about Von Miller’s fake handshake drawing a flag. Wolfe mentions how tough it was dealing with the heat at New Era Field, and why LeSean McCoy is like a backyard running back. Also, Wolfe addresses taking a knee for the National Anthem & why he loves his country. Listen to the interview HERE!
Al says Tyrod Taylor is like a point guard on the football field, and despite what DMac thinks, the Bills were simply the better team on Sunday. The guys hear from Vance Joseph on his decision to run a fake punt with DeAngelo Henderson, and Al says considering the matchup, Denver should be able to pick up at least two yards on that play. Troy Renck joins the show to talk about what’s next for the National Anthem & what the mood in the Broncos’ locker room was after a ton of penalties in Buffalo & the Oakland Raiders on tap. Renck says there will be days that Jamaal Charles is the better back for the matchup & we could see his playing time increase as the season goes along. Troy tells the guys the crowd played a factor & it was a much-needed win for the Bills, and a loss the Broncos can recover from. Listen to the interview HERE! Dmac tells Al he was expecting a huge day for Emmanuel Sanders after what he saw in the first quarter, but Al says the Bills went into a zone later in the game that Denver did not adjust to. The guys agree Denver’s running game was working well, and could have been utilized more. Al & DMac discuss what they learned about the Broncos yesterday, and how the Bills’ time of possession dictated the game. Al says the red-zone efficiency needs to be better for Denver, and the Broncos were too worried about getting the ball out of the quarterback’s hand quickly.
Al says he was impressed with how well Denver stopped the run, considering the skills of Shady McCoy, but he was disappointed in our one-on-one coverage early on. Al says expect more teams to run pick-plays against the Broncos to free up their playmakers early on, and DMac says Siemian’s second interception had shades of Mark Sanchez. Dmac says the most disappointing thing about yesterday’s game was watching Trevor come up short on throws he usually makes, and the guys decide if Trevor’s receivers could have helped him out on a few. In their Pick ‘Em segment, Al & DMac try to figure out who to pick in tonight’s game between Arizona & Dallas so they don’t lose in back-to-back weeks.
