The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Cecil Lammey joins the show to say Paxton Lynch is not ready & Big Al wonders if the competition is over for ’17. Cecil says Siemian could easily sit this next game out, but may play so the Broncos coaching staff can work on the final minor details before they start Siemian in Week 1.

LISTEN TO HOUR ONE HERE!!!

Big Al tells DMac he was impressed with the rotation of plays installed for the three Broncos QBs, and DMac points out a moment in the game when Sloter changed the play to spring DeAngelo Henderson. Al says in the preseason, you do not want to see a tie game, and DMac says in the game, all three QBs looked the same as they have in training camp. Al didn’t want to see the Broncos showcase DeAngelo Henderson, and DMac is quick to note how hard it will now be to hide Henderson & Sloter on the practice squad. Al is impressed with Cody Latimer & Jordan Taylor’s effort, and to DMac, Andy Janovich is expendable. Also, DMac wonders why Paxton Lynch can’t look like Mitchell Trubisky. Ezekiel Elliott should be suspended when the Cowboys roll into town this season, and Al says it is a major loss to deal with for Dallas. Al wonders if the Broncos are searching the wire right now for QBs, and thinks they will have to go out and find another veteran. Big Al takes a look at Troy Aikman’s numbers, and says his stats won’t dazzle you. Al wants the Broncos to customize the offense to make it more simple for Paxton Lynch, and DMac says whatever makes Lynch comfy.

LISTEN TO HOUR TWO HERE!!!

The guys talk to the fellas about what the Broncos should do at the QB position, and a caller questions Paxton Lynch’s intelligence. Cecil Lammey joins the show to say Paxton Lynch is not ready & Big Al wonders if the competition is over for ’17. Cecil says Siemian could easily sit this next game out, but may play so the Broncos coaching staff can work on the final minor details before they start Siemian Week 1. Cecil mentions Trubisky’s comfort and how good he looked last night, and asks Big Al & DMac why Paxton can’t look like that. Listen to the interview HERE! DMac says Paxton Lynch gets only one more shot, and should get the vast majority of chances with the first-team to impress Vance Joseph & the rest of the Broncos coaching staff. We hear from Kyle Sloter back in May on the ton of work left to do for him & where he sets his bar. Kyle Sloter says he’s a confident guy that just wants to let it rip, and DMac & Al talk about Sloter as a financial advisor in Atlanta instead of being the Broncos practice squad QB. This is what Trevor Siemian looks like when healthy, and DMac thinks Siemian’s draft value in a re-do would be 3rd or 4th round instead of 7th. Also, DMac says John Fox is in big trouble, and the Broncos can make playoffs with Trevor.

LISTEN TO HOUR THREE HERE!!!

Mike McCoy & Bill Musgrave looked calm last night, while Vance Joseph brought the energy up and down the sidelines. Menelik Watson & the offensive line are put under a microscope, and DMac is surprised to see Sambrailo at LT, noting that Schofield may be the one getting cut. Carlos Henderson looked nervous, Kalif Raymond looked great, and Isaiah McKenzie is looking like a game-breaker. Getting the offensive line set is quickly becoming more important than naming a starter at QB for Denver, and DMac & Al highlight the veteran depth along the line that will help later in the season. DMac says there are a lot of Kyle Sloter-types looking good in the NFL right now, and is concerned with their success while Paxton Lynch flounders. Also, things may be getting a little easier when considering the Broncos ’17 schedule, now that Sammy Watkins has been traded from the Bills & Ezekiel Elliott faces suspension.
