Denver Broncos pass rusher Von Miller officially joins nine others among the final 10 players who made the cut in this year’s ‘NFL Top 100.’
But where he’ll land will have to wait until next week.
NFL.com reports that Miller will be the sole Broncos player not only in the final episode of the annual NFL Network countdown but also among the Top 25.
Fellow players up for the top spot in the league:
» Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers,
» New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr,
» Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell,
» New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady,
» Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown,
» Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan,
» Oakland Raiders linebacker Khalil Mack,
» Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, and
» Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones.
It’s Miller’s second time cracking the top 10, coming in No. 9 in 2013. In 2016, the five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro came in at No. 15.
Only two other Broncos players made the list this year, cornerbacks Aqib Talib (37) and Chris Harris Jr (63). Only once has there been fewer
Denver players on the annual list, 2011, when cornerback Champ Baily (48) and wide receiver Brandon Lloyd (58) landed on the inaugural list.
Last month, Harris told 104.3 The Fan’s “The Drive” that the list was a joke after falling 11 spots from last season, but he brushed off the snub.
“That’s the main goal. Being in the ‘Top 100’ doesn’t put you in the Hall of Fame. All-Pros do. That’s what I focus on trying to get,” Harris said.
According to ProFootballFocus.com, both Harris and Talib ranked as the top two cornerbacks in the entire NFL in 2016.
The final episode will air on NFL Network on Monday at 6 p.m.
