DT: Broncos QB Paxton Lynch ‘getting better and better every day’

The Denver Broncos offense had one of its best days of the club’s OTAs on Monday, wide receiver Demaryius Thomas told “Stokley & Zach” after practice.
Head coach Vance Joseph didn’t go quite as far as DT, but generally agreed with the star wideout
“I thought the entire offense looked really good today. They had a slow day on Thursday, had a great day last Wednesday, an average day on Thursday. But they bounced back today,” Joseph said.
“… We found a way to get the balls in the hands of our playmakers, No. 88 (Thomas) and No. 10 (Emmanuel Sanders). Those guys made big plays today.”
But it’s the guy who was tossing Sanders and Thomas the ball, DT said, who has made strides in his progression: Paxton Lynch.
“He’s getting better and better every day,” Thomas said. “He’s slowing everything down, he’s able to read the defense, he’s able to see what throws he’s got to make, and then he’s been making all the throws so far.”
Thomas said Lynch, as well as 2016 starter Trevor Siemian, looks “more comfortable,” which he attributes to the “totally different” offense the Broncos will run this year compared to last.
“It’s something that these quarterbacks are kind of comfortable with, being in the shotgun a lot,” Thomas said. “… It gives them better chances to read the field and see what the defense is doing, and that kind of helps them as well.”
Joseph also said it’s a help that Lynch and Siemian go up against a top-flight defense every day, that it “makes game day easier.”
“Seeing the edge rushers that we have, seeing the tight coverage every day, it’s going to help those guys play better on game day,” Joseph said. Games should be easier than practice. When you’re playing against one of the top defenses in the league, it should make their lives easier on Sundays.”
