On most days during the summer, Colorado Rockies second baseman DJ LeMahieu dispenses with baserunners in the field and pitchers at the dish.
But Saturday, the reigning National League’s batting champion doles out advice and stories about his life in baseball on MLB Network’s “Play Ball” program.
LeMahieu’s episode will air on the network at 8 a.m. MT on Saturday and will feature tips and stories from 2015 All-Star
The show, geared toward children, brings together Major Leaguers with MLB Network analyst and host Harold Reynolds to provide advice to and share tips with kids looking to boost their game.
For instance, LeMahieu offers this tip for kids:
“Someone’s always watching. When you’re a kid and you want to be a leader on the team, you want your teammates to watch you set an example, and that carries all the way up to the big leagues. It’s good to start at that young age.”
