The Drive with DMac & Chad Brown LIVE in studio! DMac has new ideas for NFL overtime, Missy Franklin set to have surgery, Jerry Jones continues to hold on to Tony Romo, and the Nuggets hang tough, but drop one in Portland to the Trail Blazers. The guys break down Tony Romo’s dwindling chances of coming to Denver. 7-footers in today’s game must be able to shoot, and DMac says the Blazers couldn’t miss a shot in last night’s game. The Nuggets hung tough, however, and Jameer Nelson played well. Every team has someone who can score, and Kenneth Faried says Portland out-coached Denver. Faried is teetering on the same line Nurkic was walking when some considered him a locker room cancer. Jerry Jones says he doesn’t need to do anything with Tony Romo until training camp. Chad & DMac discuss teams that have already moved on from Tony, and if that group includes the Broncos. DMac sees the nude picture of Jay Cutler posted on Instagram by his wife, and sudden-death overtime is brought up. Also, Big Sexy says Gallo was supposed to be a leader & has gone missing much of this season.
NFL overtime rules are put to the test as DMac & Chad take calls regarding how to make NFL overtime more exciting. Fan Broncos Insider Cecil Lammey joins the show to talk high-quality tackles in the NFL draft, and plenty of guys with the potential to develop. DMac is intrigued with Julie’n Davenport, and Cecil says he’s even got room to add more weight. The basketball background and wingspan are a plus for Cecil, and his footwork is still concerning because he played at Bucknell. Cecil says it’s not a great tackle class, so why not take a chance in the later rounds on a guy like Davenport with potential. Listen to the interview HERE! Also,Kaepernick donating to charity and what exactly happens in Vegas after all.
Brandon Marshall wants to know what Jay Cutler is doing in nude pictures, Colin Kaepernick still giving thousands to charity, and baseball players that don’t stand for the National Anthem. DMac says maybe fans pay more attention on opening day, and Chad wonders what the Nuggets have in their travel plans for the summer. The guys debate if daddy-ball is okay, and if it’s possible for players to evolve their thinking and do positive things no matter how bad things may have been for them at one time. Also, DMac mentions how boxing, horse racing, violence and gambling had more of an effect on entertainment in the past compared to now, and the guys hear from Pete Carroll about Marshawn Lynch’s possible return to the NFL.
