Broncos shore up their Special Teams by hiring Olivo, Denver also hires Johnnie Lynn, Assistant DB Coach

The Drive with Big Al and DMac LIVE in studio discuss today’s news that the Broncos have hired Brock Olivo as their new Special Teams coach. The team also hired Johnnie Lynn as their new Assistant D-back coach, replacing Samson Brown, who left for the Rams with Wade Phillips. Cecil Lammey joins the show as he’s spent the week in Tampa scouting the East-West Shrine game, so he fills us in on who we should keep eyes on come April and the NFL Draft.
The Drive with Big Al and DMac LIVE in studio get the show going talking about hometowns as the Super Bowl is less than three weeks away and the big game is in Alfred’s hometown of Houston. Today happens to be the 15 year anniversary of the “tuck rule” game with the Patriots and Raiders. Also, the Raiders apply for relocation to Vegas today, Ian Rapoport reports that the move will take place in 2020, with the team still playing games in Oakland in the meantime. The Big Three at 3:30 brings up Philip Rivers and the trade rumors swirling around him, Quarterback development compared to bringing in a free agent Quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers moving past the Antonio Brown incident and the Pittsburgh media is referring to the Patriots as the “Evil Empire.”
It’s Football at Four with Big Al and DMac and it’s underway talking about Adrian Peterson’s comments made earlier today on ESPN’s First Take that he’s thought of other teams that he’d look at if he were to leave the Minnesota Vikings. Cecil Lammey, our Fan Broncos Insider as well as our NFL Draft Insider, joins the show as Mock Drafts are starting to come out with Mel Kiper Jr. has the Broncos drafting Garrett Bolles from Utah. DMac doesn’t like that pick because Bolles went on a mission and is considered an “old” prospect, at almost 25 years old. Listen to the chat with Cecil HERE! The hour finishes with the fellas talking about comments made by Jets Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall about being underpaid at $7.5 million per year. Breaking news comes out that the Bills have hired their new Offensive Coordinator, Rick Dennison.
The third and final hour of The Drive gets going with Alfred highlighting Devin Hester and his play in the latter part of the season when the Broncos had a chance to go out and get him as a free agent. The NBA has announced the starters for the NBA All Star Game. The Closing Bell rings on the Oakland Raiders moving to Las Vegas as the team has officially filed for relocation today with the NFL. Also trending up is Katie Levitre, Falcons Offensive Lineman Andy Levitre’s Wife went into labor before the Falcons’ Playoff game and ended up going to the game to support him and gave birth a short time later. Trending down are DMac’s chances of winning Employee of the Month here at the station. Also trending down are the new Chargers logos that have been created.
