The Drive with Big Al and DMac LIVE in studio react to last night’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live by Philip Rivers and Joey Bosa… where Rivers doesn’t really fit in L.A. Earl Boykins joins the guys to talk some NBA action, including news that Earl will be participating in the new 3 on 3 league that will feature retired NBA players. Tyler Polumbus joins the show to talk NFL as the Broncos interviewed Brock Olivo earlier today for their Special Teams coach opening.
The Drive with Big Al and DMac LIVE in studio get the show rolling with talk of Philip Rivers and Joey Bosa on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. The fellas take that appearance as a tell-tale sign that this move from San Diego to Los Angeles isn’t something that fits Philip Rivers, as a person. The Big Three at 3:30 brings in Earl Boykins and brings up the 3 on 3 Basketball league that will feature retired NBA Players, including Earl! Also, the drama surrounding the Knicks, Carmelo and Phil Jackson. The hour wraps with Earl and the fellas talking about the issues that are coming up with College athletes being overworked, to the point of death, during the off-season.
Football at Four underway with DMac quizzing Alfred on how the Colorado Buffaloes will do in the 2017 season as the Pac-12 released all scheduled for their teams. Next up, we hear from Johnny Manziel, as TMZ caught up with the former Heisman Trophy winner. The Baseball Hall of Fame has announced their inductees: Jeff Bagwell, Ivan Rodriguez and Tim Raines. Jose Canseco is having a meltdown on Twitter regarding the inductees because of possible P.E.D. use. The hour wraps with the fellas hearing comments made by Bill Belichick this afternoon regarding his excitement level for the AFC Championship game.
The final hour of The Drive gets rolling with Big Al and DMac talking about a “Winter Formal” that DMac’s son is going to… which leads to an interesting Prom story. Tyler Polumbus joins the show to talk about this Broncos Coaching staff, focusing on the Strength and Conditioning Coach because he’s the voice to your team when the coaching staff doesn’t have access to the players in the off-season. Trending up and trending down, it’s The Closing Bell. Trending up are steroids! Jeff Bagwell has been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, which lit Jose Canseco on fire on Twitter. Also trending up is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in November, will speak at Pauley Pavilion with all of his Wooden teammates with him. Trending down is Carmelo Anthony’s image as Phil Jackson continues to question Melo’s desire to play in New York. Also, trending down is the fact that the best referees in the NFL get work the Super Bowl, what happens to the worst ones?
